L-Mount for URSA CINE 12K LF

Hello,

I have bought the Blackmagic CinemaCamera FullFrame with L-Mount. I fell in love with the whole Blackmagic eco system while working with it so I bought a couple of L-Mount lenses for the Camera.

After seeing the release of the new URSA Cine 12k, I instantly wanted to get one. However, I noticed that there is no option for L-Mount lenses.
This is a huge bummer, especially since I would have been able to use all the new L Mount lenses I got for the Cinema FF, which would have been a great B Cam working alongside the Cine 12k.

Therefore I'm asking if Blackmagic is planning to sell a L-Mount adapter for the Cine 12k?
That would be such a huge addition for the whole set up.

Question whether the internal NDs don't allow the short flange distance ....

If you would like to use the BMCC12K as a B-camera to a UMCine12K LF, the L-mount lenses will still be used so not a waste. You have the option of buying PL or EF lenses for the Cine12K LF; it shops with PL mount installed but includes an EF-mount if you wish to use EF glass. I don’t know if your shoots can benefit with a zoom lens, but a zoom on the Cine12K would give you lots of flexibility and differentiate how you use the two cameras.

L mount has a 20 mm Flange Focal distance so that would be well within the camera body. The face of the camera is 40 mm from the focal plane indicator, so EF (at 44 mm) is likely as short as they can go with a locking ring. It doesn't seem like any of the mirrorless mounts (which are all at or below 20 mm) will work without a redesign.

Thanks for the clarification. I however have bought so many L Mount lenses because I didnt have any fullframe ones before which whould have made it a big bummer not to use them on the cine.

Fortunately, the PYXIS 12k just announced which eliminates all of my problems  :D
