Wow! Fantastic job yesterday Blackmagic. Pyxis 12K, yes please. Amazing that they got my new favorite sensor punching hard in that little body.

The whole time, though, I was thinking just how amazing an accomplishment (and what a value) the Cine 12K is. Internal ND, readouts that are perceptually the same as global, unbridled resolutions, frame rates, compression combos, dual full size XLR's, great preamps, dual full size SDI's, dual 5 inch monitors, No hiccup media module unparalleled for $/TB/Speed, and the list goes on.

Are we getting pre-record (cache recoding) as well? That would be some fine icing on a delightful cake.

Agree, Alan. That extra assist-side monitor is special especially when using the DJI Focus Pro. It’s nice to see BMD taking on some partners in helping make their gear shine. The added value a partner can bring is significant both in terms of added functionality and industry competitiveness. Yes, for years high-end productions have enjoyed the pairing of ARRI and Prescott, but now we have BMD and DJI beginning to tango.

Not just the Cine12K, but the Cine17K is something to be in awe of frankly as their first banana step into the IMAX world. It’s another statement camera. I know BMD has a less than stellar history of unpredictable reliability in the past, but if these new premium cameras prove to turn the corner on that, as appears to be happening already with high praise from those shooting with it, then the future is golden.

And close behind their Cine family, we have the Pyxis family beginning to find traction as a mid-tier tool with a high-end image. Not quite as amazing as the feature rich Cine, but could easily become a huge success. The Cine might end up with an Emmy or Oscar one day, but the Pyxis belongs to everyman.

The articulating monitor as well.

It is so liberating to finally have a 5 inch built-in outdoor usable monitor. I had this guy outside yesterday for a four hour session in bright sunlight with no hood and filled the 8 terabyte module. What a pleasure coming from basically ornamental built-in Sony monitors.

I believe it needs a simultaneous card record option, even if it were just the proxies.

Hey Mark, I'm not sure of your specific usage, but possibly one of these options we'll get you what you need?

Automatic Proxy Recording
Your URSA Cine records proxies automatically when you record clips and saves them as
separate 1920x1080 HD H.264 files. This means depending on which camera you are using,
you can record Blackmagic RAW up to full 12K or 17K open gate resolution at high frame rates
then edit the proxies using a modest computer and when you are finished you can then export
at full delivery maximum resolution. If you have synced your camera to Blackmagic Cloud, the
proxies can also be uploaded to personal storage and projects while you are still shooting.

Camera Video Outputs
URSA Cine has two 12G-SDI outputs, one Ethernet streaming output, and 5 USB outputs
including the EVF output.
