Help- Dumb Question. How to mount tilta cage for BMPCC6kpro

PostSun Apr 06, 2025 5:42 am

Hi All,
A really dumb beginners question for you. I have the tilta full camera cage for my bmpcc6kpro. On the bottom there a whole lot of small screw holes but none larger screw holes to fit my baseplate. Also there is only 1 small screw hole in the centre as the other two are being used to attach the cage to the camera.
How do I mount the cage to a tripod baseplate so the camera sits in the centre of the tripod?
Thanks for your help.
Justin

Screw positions:

Slide the cage sideways into the baseplate

Did that help?
Or do you have a different issue?

Thanks Robert,

The second photo doesn’t look like I have that piece of equipment?

I have the smallrig Ad-100 tripod. I tried sliding the cage onto the baseplate of the tripod but it seems to be the wrong size. Also by sliding it sideways how would you use the tilt up and down on the tripod as the camera would be sideways? I have created a makeshift solution using a quick release baseplate but with only a single screw underneath it feels potentially unstable.
Am sure I’m doing something basically stupid here - am I missing a piece of equipment that goes between the tilta cage and the tripod?
Thanks again for your help.
Best
Justin

It seems you are missing the base plate:

The camera sits then on this like here:

And below that baseplate you can then mount any tripod plate or slide the baseplate onto a dovetail like that:
