Just got a mail from Kippertie…

Not cheap, but a very good solution to get ND.

Very good, thanks! Hefty pricing.

I would like to order both A and B cartridges from Clear to 7 stops in one stop increments.

I don’t know for sure which photo illustrates what they call a PL twist tie. Is it the photo with the prominent PL printed at the bottom?

If you order the PL tie, does that replace the PL foot. For these prices, do they have a video that describes how to use the options?

Edit:
Answered my question, yes it’s the item with the PL label:

Just priced this out and even with just one cartridge, it’s over $1500 shipped to US. Hoping Somone comes up with a solution that’s lower cost.

Yeah, can't justify $1500 when you could get an URSA Cine 12k for not much more, haha

Accessories are a world of their own. If you’re an innovator that addresses a small niche, there’s not much competition, but you still want to keep your margins in check or copycats will rush in and steal your market. I’ve no idea why the price is this high, but it’s just not the Revolva with lens support foot specifically designed for the Pyxis that seems to be a high price, it’s their approach across different products.

I think the Revolva with A and B cartridges together addresses my biggest beef with current internal 0, 2, 4, 6 or 7 stops filtration. The behind the lens system provides 0 through 7 in one stop increments. I have full quality sets of rectangular filters and 82mm screw-on filters, 2-4-6 86mm filters and may need to add several M105 filters screw-on when I add the DZOfilm 18-90mm PL zoom! For anyone starting out who decides to use PL mount lenses (good idea) on L-mount cameras like the Pyxis (great idea), $1,500 is actually a significant cost economy as they may be the only filters you need regardless of the various sizes of lenses you attach in front of them, and in a super convenient package compared to the time and care to wrangle what I have.

I have briefly investigated the cost of adding seven quality matched M105 filters.

Tokina Coarse Water White Glass IRND 105mm $485 each!

Tokina Cinema Pro IRND 105mm $149 each.

So for those of us have lots of filters, it hurts, but for those who are starting out or moving up to better lenses for these amazing cameras, there’s a silver lining.

the Mofage Poco L to PL VND has work pretty well for me.
I also have some 4x5.65" IRND's 0.6, 1.2, 2.1, that come in handy when needing to outfit another camera.

Good points, Adam; I do have my full set of rectangular 4x5.65” IRND for my 114mm matte box that should work for any lens that fits down to a limit of 14mm focal length I believe.

Certainly the traditional way is an option, variable ND may be fine up to 6 stops, but for documentary or event shooting the Kippertie is an elegant solution that will appeal to a niche market hence higher initial cost.

Here’s a comparison purchasing Tiffen ND filters 4x5.65” on sale for $224 each and an additional 10% off that for a first-time customer. The filters are normally $320 USD each. 6 filters from 1 stop to 6 stops.

after considering how much I want to use the Pyxis 12k, I now think this is a smart choice.
I really do enjoy the form-factor of the Pyxis and having a slide-based ND system is preferred.
It may be pricey, but will last the length of the camera and I'll never have to mess with swapping cartridges, as I'm used to the UMP ND count.

When using the Mofage POCO on the Pyxis last week, I kept bumping the dial of the VND while focusing, so my exposure kept getting messed up. I think it's still a decent solution, but you get what you pay for, for sure. Plus, it can still live on my 6k FF!

Looking forward to your experience with the Revolva L-PL on the Pyxis 12K LF L-mount. Although my one year delay on ordering the Pyxis 12K is due to financial considerations, I so appreciate learning what’s best for me from you and others providing guidance.

whelp, order placed. UK shipping, so hopefully by the time the Pyxis 12k arrives I'll have it.
I opted for the Clear,2,4,6 version, I just got used to the UMP offerings and that's what's in the URSA Cine, should I chose to 'upgrade' later.

(got 10% off too!)

Wow - I hadn't considered that would be an issue. I have the Poco advanced kit sitting here waiting for the Pyxis to arrive. I did ask B&H if I could use the Mofage hard ND filters, and they thought yes. Had you ever looked into it? I'm wondering if there is a way to make the dial have more tension so it can't be moved accidentally.

So what was the final price of the Revolva with 1 cart you paid with shipping to the US? Any tariff applied?

I'm also looking for a suggestion for a grip with Rosette that has bluetooth for record. Any suggestions.

Good for you! On my webpage, the S cartridge filters are clear plus 2-4-7 stops.

They do do custom cartridges at 0,2,4 and 6 stops which is what I ordered to keep in consistent with my Blackmagic camera with internal NDs. I just exchanged messages with Sarah from Kippertie today and she said everything was on track for the quoted shipping time, so it'll be a race between the Pyxis and the adapter to get here first (:

Too bad their webpage is so malnourished and only good for ordering items, useless for learning about items. I don’t do Facebook any more.
