Hello folks.

I just recently purchased a 4K Pocket Pro, spent the day building the rig, had a blast. Ran into a problem, I cannot for the life of me load new firmware on the thing. It has 8.1 now. Black Magic Camera Setup Software see's it allright, but when I click on that silly little icon, I get nothing. I'm using the latest release of Windows 11, and while the BM Camera Set up tool to sees the Camera I know it does cuz when I unplug it throws a fit and tells me to plug a camera in.

I've watched multiple videos on the subject, with very few using Windws and only the ones using Apple PC's having serious results. I've followed one creators suggestion of stipping the entire unit down, with nothing plugged in, no lenses or speedboosters...just the power plug and the USBC cable no luck.

I'm hoping some kind soul can guide me to salvation here, I'm guessing I've either missed something or its a Windows issue. Any assistance will be most appreciated.

8.1 it’s latest firmware of pockets 4k, 6k.

There is no such camera as a Pocket 4K Pro. Perhaps you meant 6K Pro? The latest general release firmware for the BMPCC4K is 8.1 I believe.

I think ultimately I figured out that 8.1 was the latest as I continued to read the descriptions for each of Blackmagics update descriptions. Rick, thank you for the correction, I'm looking at the box this came in and it's description is Pocket Cinena Camera 4K.

8.1 is the latest non-beta firmware. 9.4 beta is the latest but it’s still in beta and has some issues.

Will 9.4 be for the Pocket 4k and 6K camera series? I thought 8.6 Beta was the latest software for those cameras, and it's over a year old and not GA released yet.

9.4 is for the pocket line
9.5 is for the cc and ursa line

Actually, 9.4 was for the Studio line.

Dang I stand corrected! 9.4 is for the studio not pocket line. So I’m not sure where 8.6 beta is going to end up. Hopefully someone like Kristian will chime in with the official scoop.
