after observing that the new bmd camera firmwares have stopped the use and recognition of NVME ssd's, and restoring the old firmwares rehabilitate such disks, today I upgraded my VideoAssist 12g 7' to firmware 3.19 and it too stopped formatting and supporting the NVME WD black disk I have been using for the last 3 years, same behavior as the pocket 6k and pro I own.
Out of curiosity, I downgraded to 3.8 (the one where I have support for the fuji x-h2 braw, which is why I bought this monitor) and everything went back to working properly.
Now the question I have is how external usb device support protocols were changed, and why it only affected NVME disks, since older ssd's, which I used back in the days of the 4k production camera, which I still use with Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k g1 allow me to record with it in uncompressed cdng, and with video assist with the latest firmware.
