One of the challenges with using the black magic cam app with iOS is transferring "specific" files via USB C cable to a Mac.
My understanding is that this is because they are written inside a folder within the app folder.
The issue with this is you must copy the entire contents of all the media to your computer to locate and transfer that specific file you're looking for.
However, if the files could be written to the root of the app folder, macOS could easily select recent, specific files.
Using a USB-connected drive avoids this issue but adds complexity to filming with a phone. Moving or copying files internally is an unnecessary extra step.
Finally, the reason the connection through the iOS Photos app is not good is because who would want to sync large ProRes files with iCloud? However, it's still great to have iCloud enabled for photos. Ideally, I don't like large Blackmagic ProRes files being sent to iCloud, but I want to use iCloud for smaller photo library items.
