I have been using the black magic cam app for over a year with a HDMI to lightning adapter, the app has worked flawlessly and I really like the picture quality.

After the last iOS update my phone stopped working for the adapter. I tried to contact Apple and they kept saying it was the apps issue. I had a aftermarket adapter so I purchased a real Apple adapter. When I plugged it into my phone the screen came up and it did a firmware update, it started working.

The app started working and my phone was back to normal. I use these phones at the church and have several adapters so I was going to use another phone with this adapter so I plugged it in.

The adapter wouldn’t work with the second phone, so I plugged it back into the original phone that had just worked and now both phones are not working with the new adapter from Apple. After several phone calls and being hung up on, I finally got to a decent apple technician.

The Apple adapter can only be used onephone It is set up on, if you plug it into another phone and try to use the adapter it will render it useless.

This is built into the new iOS update from Apple. I had to go buy another adapter, do the update again and mark the adapter for the phone. All of the offbrand/Apple verified will never work again so you might as well throw them out after this iOS update.

I need to buy three separate adapters and Mark them and hopefully never plug them in to the wrong phone. There is no information in the user manual when you get the adapters about this issue, the only way I found out is by mistake a costly one.

They could not tell me how long this adapter will be able to work correctly. I am not happy with Apple, we pay good money for the phones and accessories and should be able to use how we please .

I had an Apple adapter but I exchange between iPhone 14 Pro and an old iPad Pro, and I can exchange without problems with different app.
But I cannot test with Blackmagic Design app be cause iPad is too old to use it.
I will try to find some other iPhone to test it with Blackmagic Design cam app

This sounds hard to believe. If this reprehensible clandestine corporate greed and anti-competitive practice is true and applies to Apple iPhones and Apple adapters, Apple will be taken to court in a $100,000,000 class action lawsuit in which the lawyers will easily be rewarded $99,999,000 and 100 participating claimants will each receive $10 18 months after the court settlement.

For your $10 compensatory award, you need to instigate a relentless campaign on every social media site including yourself in all user groups with this exposé. Someone else is going to get a book out about your struggle for justice and sell the film rights for $10,000,000 of which you are not entitled to anything because it’s only going to use publicly available information including an AI-generated likeness of you and your voice.

Your real compensation will be the satisfaction that you took Apple down!

I did a test with iPhone 14 Pro, 13 and 13 mini.
Same adapter work fine with all.
Blackmagic Design app, filmic pro and many others app.
You should check more about what you do in your chain.
I used to send signal on my video assists, atem mini pro and a simple tv.
All work fine.

Carlo, that’s great news for Forklifttech but the lawyers are going to be disappointed there won’t be a class action lawsuit after all.

eh eh i'm not like lawyer, but unfortunately these kind of lawyer never risk to be without work.

You are in a different country, also have you done the most recent iOS update and are you using an apple adapter?

You are in a different country, also have you done the most recent iOS update and are you using an apple adapter?

later i testes with latest ios, iphone 14 pro, 13, 13 mini, different app, all work fine.
original apple adapter, i never buy compatible about this kind of tool, Apple disable compatible adapter every xx time.
