Power amps and wattage

PostSun Nov 04, 2012 8:50 am

Hi.

I have hard time finding exact tech specs on that.

Different people give different numbers.

So far what i think i know:

1. current draw 2500 ma (or possibly half of it) depending where i read

2. voltage 12v minimum (will 11.9 v dop instantly to shut off?)

3. 18 w/h

Can anyone elaborate ?

Here is my guess based on things we've heard or know. But I could be wrong as I'm not an electrical engineer.
Amperes = Watts / Volts
if the BMCC is said to have a draw of about 18 watts using a 12 volt DC source, then the milliamperes would be about 1500 and in practice likely a little more. A battery with a capacity of a 2500 milliamperes would last about 90 minutes.

It's generally around the 20W mark, this is factoring a maximum 5W draw from the SSD. This may go up a bit of the battery is simultaneously charging (i.e. when it's not fully charged).

20W is great.

A 160Wh battery can power it for several hours (5+) if my calculations were correct a while ago.

Ok so 200 wh should be great then.

What i also wonder is some of the batteries are just 12,8 volts.

If it drops 11,9 will bmc shut down then ?
