Iris control issue

Just got my camera today, and I'm having some issues with iris control on a Canon 24-70L. I can set the Iris on this lens without any issues on my dslrs but on the blackmagic it won't adjust at all, but my other lenes are working fine. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with this lens and the BMC?

You will find that only a handful of people have the camera... you are actually holding gold dust in your hands right now! So sorry, I can't help but I know of maybe two other people here that can, one of them is John Brawley.

i just tried my 24-70L (i assume you mean the mk1 version). using the ff and rw buttons the iris does adjust.
what kind of behaviour are you seeing (or not seeing)?

I'm not getting any response from either button with this lens. To adjust the iris at the moment I have to chuck it on to my dslr, change the apature in there and put it back on the bmc. Not very convenient.

Oh no... I hope this is not a widespread issue and is easily (firmware) fixable

John - i've tested most of my lenses now and i'll test the rest later but i'm not seeing that behaviour elsewhere, yet...

dude, you are not alone

Marco Solorio of OneRiver Media posted at his blog as follow:

Unfortunately at this time (Cinema Camera version 1.1), not all Canon lenses work with the EF model. I have quite a large collection of Canon L lenses and all but two work with the Cinema Camera, which includes the 85mm f/1.2L (probably Canon’s sharpest lens they’ve ever made) and the 35mm f/1.4L. Because the 85mm focuses electronically (I’ve always hated that feature, even on my Canon DSLRs), it requires a protocol that BMD hasn’t figured out yet (I’m assuming Canon isn’t going to just hand that kind of information out). So with the 85mm, there’s no focus, and no aperture control at this time. With the 35mm, no aperture control at this time (but focus works fine).
