BMCC Cold Shoe adapter?

PostFri Nov 09, 2012 6:13 pm

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anybody knows a good solution for adding a cold shoe mount (or 2 or 3) to the top of the BMCC without using a rig or cage? Surely there must be some company that makes screw-in cold shoe mounts? The screw threads are standard, aren't they?

That one looks great! I'll get three of them, one for each thread :) I doubt I'll be rigging up the BMCC any time soon, so until I got the money to spend on a proper rig, this will have to do for mounting accessories.

EDIT: Argh... $39 for the cheapest shipping to the UK seems a little too steep though

For some reason I'm not allowed to post URLs but I found a cheaper option yet same practicality as TomGruber's pricey option. Google "Cold Shoe Mount Viewfactor", it's on viewfactor website.

Being in the UK I'm not willing to pay 53 USD for postage though, so, has anybody from the UK come accross this type of shoe mount here? please please please :(

Viewfactor makes a great one for $15, Wooden Camera's is $25, and CoolLCD just came out with one for under $10 though I'm not sure if it has the set-screw.

I have my eyes on the Viewfactor one.
I might combine it with a Pocket cage order.

I have one of these:

It's a problem fitting it into a 1/4 20 hole as it locks at an angle, not necessarily the angle I want.
