Wireless Mics

I have a friend who travel a lot for what he does. The nature of his work is that he is always teaching and recording himself with a small handycam. I really wanted to help him get clean audio, but something like a wireless lav would be too complicated and expensive for what he does. He's a professor.. so he always has crowds of minimum 20 people. He needs a wireless solution.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

have you considered running a wired lav to a recorder on his person and sync it in post? (an Iphone or a zoom h1 could do that )

Thanks guys! Yeah I was considering that Rode Mic, he does have an iphone. My only thing is, as I mentioned He is a prof and doesn't really know much about editing so I was a little worried he might ask me to sync the audio to footage lol..
