I just yesterday read from somewhere that one can do emergency charting
in usb port camera has.

How valid is this info?

And secondly could camera be working like this on usb power lets assume there would be suitable amps
available like this.

I doubt it's possible to charge the BMCC's internal battery via USB. That may require many more watts than most (any?) USB port can supply.

The camera's ext. power connector is for powering & charging the camera. Its USB connector is for installing firmware updates.

However if the BMCC has a "secret" USB trickle charge capability, that would be pretty nice. I'd be interested in confirmation/denial from BMD on this point. Cheers.

it was stated in the article that it is super slow and absolute emergency option etc.

This is why i wonder.

Yes, you can charge the camera via USB. It's slow but if you really need to, it's there.

That's way cool. Thanks for the confirmation, Kristian.

The original question to this probably came from my original post (with photo, last Thursday 9/23) here explaining that you indeed can charge the internal battery using USB...

Wow! You guys at Black Magic Design think of everything! Thank you for this tiny little feature that could really save my tail someday.

Is it possible to charge to near full capacity or just if the battery is completely drained? Any estimate to how long it takes to fully charge (I'm guessing 24 hours or so) even a ballpark range could be useful.
