Tell them instead that the price for "your camera" is "X amount" (where that equals everything you spent on media / batteries / rigging / monitors / etc as well!!), not only it is more honest (arguably), it is more impressive too!

I think that's a brilliant suggestion. Just yesterday I was reading a post on the RED user forum in which someone listed the cost of all current RED cameras exactly that way: cost of an operational camera, not the 'brain' or body.

A few Red dongles have attempted to use this disparity to paint the Ursa as a more expensive camera to own and operate than a Red. That's a pretty futile endeavor, given that Red Mags cost quite a bit more than CFast2 media.

It's $350 for a 128GB Sandisk CFast2 card, and $850 for a 120GB Red Mag Mini at B&H. By the time the 4.6K cameras start shipping, they will probably cost even less.

Rakesh, with the announcement of the 120GB RED Mini magazine, this week I've seen the CFast 2 cards used by BMD described as "moderately priced."

It's about time, eh? ;)

CFast2 has been less expensive than most of the proprietary media for quite a while now, even though they're still pricey compared to SDXC and SSD media.
