Hi Everyone

Check out a presentation I gave recently about shooting RAW with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera.

http://www.moviemachine.tv/video/the-im ... /56328377/

In this presentation titled: The Impact of Digital Film Camera Technology, producer/director, Rick Young, runs through just what it is that defines a cinema camera and what can be achieved with images recorded in the RAW colour space.

The presentation focusses on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and how the RAW recording which this camera provides, in combination with various lens options, gives the cinematographer the means to produce content to cinema level.

Cheers - will have part 2 up very soon.

Rick

Hi Rick,

Nice presentation and good information.

My questions is concerning the fountain footage. What is it that I'm seeing in the water around the 1:30-1:35 mark? There appears to be a 1 or 2 frame color jump in the middle of the frame, in the water.

Thanks,

John

Hi John

Just checked the clip - that was an encoding glitch out of Resolve.

The footage was processed when I was on Lion - occasionally on highlights there would be an artifact. I have now upgraded to Mountain Lion and these errors have disappeared.

Just to confirm I rendered out the clip, in Resolve, on my Mountain Lion machine, and the glitch is now gone.

You have good eyes!

Cheers,

Rick
