Thanks Blackmagic for releasing FW2.5!

As I use two BMPC4Ks in combination with an Atomos Shogun recorder, I'm really looking forward to get the updated 6G SDI specification for my cameras, too...
Between these devices, there is only HD recording possible at the moment.

Please implement this feature for the BMPC4K as well!!

regards, Ben

Kind of off topic, but the 720 50-60p would be amazing on the pocket. I know this has been discussed to death, but just sayin ;)

Interesting update for users of the Studio Cameras. Good job, Blackmagic!

While we're wishing for future things for the Production Camera 4K, I'd love to see DNxHD and DNxHR recording added to its firmware. I imagine Windows users would especially welcome that option. Cheers.

From my interaction with support, they don't feel this is a firmware problem or that it's really a problem at all.
They told me to send in the camera.

I was so incredibly excited when I saw the 720p50 support - but then really depressed when I realised it was only for the Studio Camera's. Please, please, please bring this to the Production & Cinema Camera's! This would be such a massive help for us!

720 50 - 60p and add an in-camera Waveform Monitor feature that is displayed on the Camera's screen would place both the 4 K Production and Cinema Cameras in a class of their own for the price and all the features added since April, 2014. Hope that it comes in the near future. Bravo BM for what you've already done.

yes, 50p would be very nice for all drone operators with the pocket camera.

The killer feature that would make the BMPC excel even more than it does at the moment would be a waveform. The main thing that I feel the camera is lacking is exposure tools, a histogram and zebras just doesn't cut it.. I know, easy solution is to get a proper lightmeter, which I'm planning to do either way, but a waveform (or false color for that matter!) would perfect the camera in my eyes.

I don't care about HFR, there are other cameras for that. I believe very firmly that no single camera can be the perfect camera for anything, so there's no point in asking for amazing new features all the time.

With the 2.4 update I feel like the camera is finally ready for production and I'm looking forward to working with it a lot more! :)

I disagree. I'm not asking for high frame rates for slow-motion purposes. I need 720p50 for broadcast reasons - hence the reason why Blackmagic has offered this functionality to their Studio Camera's. It would be a VERY welcome addition.
