There are many ways of working with the files. Some are using Resolve, After Effects or Lightroom.

If you search the forum there are many examples.

Here is one using Resolve and roundtripping to Premier:

To be honest, and I know people really like working with the files straight out of the camera (especially Premiere users), Cinema DNG files are not really meant to be worked with natively - not for editing at least. Your best bet is to do the offline/online workflow. That's the way it was meant to be done. If you really want to use the files straight out of the camera, shoot ProRes. You'll only frustrate yourself if you try to make something work in a way it wasn't intended. It's way too heavy to be editing with. Convert to ProRes or DNxHD and then work with those files, or shoot ProRes and work with those.

Yup. They are not edit friendly files. You need to create proxies of some sort.

That could be simply creating a first light grade in Resolve (or another app) and exporting full resolutions ProRes (or other edit friendly codec/format) files to finish in Premier (or other NLE) or doing a roundtrip with low resolution proxies for final finishing in Resolve.

Another option instead of converting your footage to prores, is to buy a hyperdeck shuttle 2 and have that record to prores or DNxHD. You will have to batch rename your files in Adobe Bridge (which can batch rename reel names as well) and reconnect, but overall it will be faster than transcoding raw-> proxy. Also, you will have 10-bit Prores back ups of your material as you shoot.

i'd go with proxy workflow.

with compressed files you kill bmc raw capabilities just for editing convenience.
