Canon 17-40mm f/4 L - Currently not working

Just doing some tests with the camera this morning and can confirm the the 24-105mm f/4 L works fine on the BMCC. Aperture and IS are working as they should.

The Canon 17-40mm f/4 L on the other hand is not working. There is not aperture control. Have tried restarting the camera and remounting the lens. Might be addressed in the new Firmware but it's currently not working on ver 1.1.

Will be shooting some test footage with the Nikon Mount Tokina 11-16mm later one. Will upload for those that wanna check infinity focus.

Thank you for sharing this info. This is very precious for building a database of the lenses that are currently working or not with the BMCC.

I'm pretty confident that Blackmagic will address it.

It works fine on the Metabones Smart Adaptor on the Sony FS100.

I just bought a 70-200mm f/4 IS L for some event recording that I have coming up. I can't find the reference but I recall that it isn't working either. Does anyone know for sure?

I've tried the 70-200 f2.8 IS and it works fine, haven't tried the f4...

I've just tried the Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS USM and the iris control works. Press Iris and, in the meantime, left or right arrow.

Yes ! 8-)

In fact it's not necessery to press both Iris and the arrows. Just the arrows is enough.

The 70-200 f4 L IS USM work fine with the Extender x1,4vII also (didn't check the loss of quality yet).

Just checked the Canon 300m f/4 L IS and it works also (Iris and stabilizer) with or without the Extender x1,4 vII (yes, working in wildlife cinematography I like telephoto!)

The iris of the Canon 100 Macro f2.8 (not IS) works also on the BMCC. But it's impossible to mount the extender 1,4 v.II on it.

Just checked the Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 OS. The iris works, but not the stabilizer. Didn't check the image quality yet.

The 17-40 F4 L has been out in the market for some time now and not one of the newer Canon lenses.. This is very disappointing..

Has anyone tested the Sigma 30mm F1.4?

Come on BMD Let's get this fixed..

I'll be posting some DNGs this morning.

It appeared to be ok in camera. Shooting wide open with the Tokina the image is a little soft but even through the misty haze of a winters day in London I was able to focus on buildings in the distance.

Will include shots done with a Carl Zeiss ZF.2 35mm f/2 for comparison.
