Problem with sensor. Tech support?

PostSun Dec 13, 2015 4:19 pm

Hi everybody, I was shooting at a wedding last night with my BMPC and a green laser got the sensor so now it's broken.
The camera's still under the one-year BMD warranty, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this kind of problem and if I should expect BMD to take care of it, or if I'm gonna have to pay for it.

I also wanted to know about the usual flow of things for this kind of problems. Do you have to mail them the camera or do you take it straight to tech support? How long does it usually take to take care of something like this? I've never had any problems with my camera that's why I want to know how efficient BMD's tech support is. I'm in Argentina but I can send the camera to California this week.

Anyways, thanks in advance for the replies! I'm desperate and could really use some help.

The usual turnaround time for products is 7-10 business days. If there are troubles that come up that are out of the ordinary, this could change that timeframe. The only way for the repair department to know is to look at it. You can contact the US office for RMA setup. You can find the number/email in my signature below.
