Third party URSA Mini EVF mount

PostSat Jan 30, 2016 9:14 pm

Does anyone know of anyone manufacturing EVF mounts for the URSA Mini? I know Wooden Camera has a clamp for the URSA but it doesn't work with the mini (I asked them). It seems to me that if you want to use a non-BM EVF you'd have to bolt it to the top handle... which is very obtrusive and probably not that comfortable.

So, any ideas? I have a Cineroid Retina (which I love) and don't know how to attach it to the camera...

Have you looked at Tilta.

I see that it mentions the Zacuto EVF. I wonder if this will work with your Cineroid too.
In the USA they are rept. by Ikan.

Hi Leon!

Yeah I checked those two options before... I forgot the mention I've already ordered BM's Shoulder kit which comes with a top handle. I'd like to use that, and Wooden Camera's solution is to change the top handle altogether (and it looks ugly IMO)

Tilta's option might not work because the distance from the rails might be a bit far from the eye, but I guess we'll have to wait until the minis are more widespread

The handle has three 1/4x20 mounting points on the handle, so you could add a shoe and a EVF mount like the Edelkrone EVF mount, you might find a used one, very nice and affordable. I used on the the top handle of the AF100.

The Tilta EVF mount pictured above has horrible rotational lock-off...I have to crank the tiny knob right up to stop the EVF slipping.

Hey men ive been also searching for a perfect solution. IVe found one:) ImageImageImage

Fits perfectly and firmly attached with 2 screws. You could then purchase any evf solution. The mounting is the only problem.

Nice! I was wondering about that workaround. I even emailed them and they told me it wouldn't work. Nice to see it does!

Hey since you have the same setup I'll be having, mind if I ask you what would be the perfect length for the power cable for the EVF? I need to start making a couple

I have a NATO rail on the top of my camera and I have a Zacuto clamp that I use to mount my Wooden Camera EVF mount to:

The same system also mounts the Zacuto Axis Mini with ease:

SmallRig also make a NATO to right angle rode clamp:

So you could easily build a mount on the cheap from SmallRig parts. Add this:

And a NATO rail:

Lots of options. :-)
