LATEST PREORDER DATE TO BE SHIPPED IS... October 30th



Greetings everyone... I thought I'd start a thread to give honest real world factual information for those of us who ordered from BHPhoto and who would like at least some idea when we can expect our camera.

So this thread is for ONE PURPOSE ONLY, if you have received your camera from BHPhoto, can you please leave a note stating the approximate date you ordered and the approximate date they have shipped your unit.

This can be a HUGE help for the 800 plus people who have ordered from BH, and give us a reasonable idea of when we can expect our cameras.

PLEASE!! Keep all the pissing and moaning and bashing of business practices of either BH or BlackMagic OFF THIS THREAD! I'd like this to be a purely useful reference...

here is my info. no news yet

12/29 B&H last informed 4-6 weeks till ship. That was about 2 weeks ago. I don't expect that estimate to be correct.

I ordered mine early sep 2012,
When I asked B&H, I got 4 to 6 weeks, and this was 3 weeks ago,



Still nothing yet.....

I ordered mine from B&H 30 august 2012, steel waiting no info from B&H

Ordered mine on 5/4/2012. It shipped on 1/15/2013 and got it a week ago Friday. I'm sure I moved up the list since some people jumped ship to the MFT preorder.

I ordered mine around 5/21 or so and still don't have it yet. I suspect though that since they are into early May preorders that mine shouldn't be too far off.

Ordered 7/29. Hoping I get it by mid March

5/17, nothing yet.

Ordered August 24th, 2012
Last heard 1/18 that they expect in about eight weeks.

Thanks everyone for posting, I think this will be really telling as more preorders are filled.

Ordered EF version from B&H on 08/19/12, still no word on when I'm getting mine.

I ordered two cameras on April 27. I received both Jan. 12.

There are so many holes in that logic it's not funny, "calculate" on another thread... just the facts here please...

Ordered 8/23/12 - No word yet

Ordered late June. No reply.

someone from the other forum has posted that they received their shipping notice from B&H today. They ordered 5/11. Things seem to be moving.

This is my second update,

I emailed B&H again, I got this;

"I apologize but it might still take another few weeks till we get this in and then ship it to you. I really apologize for this major delay and any aggravation this may have caused you. "

Few week, I bet it's 30 days.....

Oder placed in October "fully paid"

I guess I will wait till NAB2013 and see what other companies come up with as far as raw shooting goes, and switch my order.

I hope I get my camera before then but at this point it's not likely.

Stay focused people, tell us the date ORDERED and date DELIVERED if it has happened... and if you've heard something CONCRETE from BH...

This thread is for useful information only, everyone is well aware of how you've been inconvenienced and how the system is broken, we've been listening to it for months now. Get over it.

i just got an email from BH that my order is ready to ship but my card was declined. I think my expiration date has changed. I'm sooooo excited but I'm also nervous that they may pass the camera to the next guy on the list. I'm calling first thing when they open.

I ordered 5/17

I was at the B&H superstore in NYC yesterday and got to take a look at their display BMCC. The employee I talked to said for "new orders the expected wait is 2-3 months" I asked him again to clarify this. He said "What I'm being told (by his supervisor who talks to BMCC directly) is that BM expects to fulfill all B&H orders and then give them extra stock within 3 months"

After reading these forums for the last 4 months this seems incredibly unlikely. But that's what they said. Maybe production really has kicked in (or is about to). But if it had, we don't seem to be hearing that from people on these boards.

I hope they are right though.

Sean - Thank you for doing this. This is something that will be quite helpful to those of us waiting on a camera from B&H.

There is a post in another forum (last post on page 36) that seems to suggest the person ordered from B&H on 5/31 and their order is being shipped. The person's post is in response to someone else who ordered from B&H on 5/21 having their order status changed.

So we should be seeing the deliveries from the last week in may?

Thanks, I appreciate the constructive posts... I can't find the post you're speaking of, but I'm going to try to stick to posts regarding dates made on this thread just so the information stays as "clean" as possible... but I'll try to keep it up to date!

Ordered Sept 7.

I just checked and it's changed from "Backordered" to "On Order."

I don't think this is really much progress, but it's not backordered anymore, so I'm guessing something MIGHT have happened. (Not speculating, just stating, lol).

I ordered mine August 28th. B&H sends me an update about every 2 weeks telling me that at least one item is still missing. Love this link. It sure helps us determine approximately when we can expect our deliver. Thanks for starting this post,

Interesting. My order from late September now says, "On Order", too. Used to say, "Backordered". I doubt it means much of anything.

Ordered 29JUNE12 also have had the "backordered" status change to "on order". The cinema handles I ordered are in and being held until the camera is available to preserve the discount applied at the time of purchase. I have to say that B&H has done a great job of listening to all of us who have used them as a sounding board... only because BMD doesn't have "live chat".

I'm thinking it's just an administrative way of saying, "You're still on backorder, but we want to make you feel special."

Just checked my order status on my EF. Placed 12/29. Now says "On Order" used to say back ordered. My guess is that most orders for EF were placed in April-June, and those are almost filled so the rest (smaller amounts) will be filled soon. It would be nice to get clarification from B&H on this matter.

I ordered on the 6th of August, status has changed from Back-ordered to On order.

My order from October 10 is now "on order" also, but I also got an email this morning saying it wasn't in stock

"On Order"

Emailed B&H last night to clarify what "On Order" means. best i can grab from the internet is "Backordered" means they have your order, but can not place it, or have but they do not expect to get orders filled in the appropriate/usual amount of time. "On order" meaning, not in stock, but order has been sent and expect stock in usual time. Again, this was from internet research, and am still waiting a reply from B&H to clarify.

Thanks for the attention everyone, I understand that sharing any information makes us feel like we're at least involved in the process of getting our camera, but let's stay focused, "order/backorder" status isn't valuable information, but I really appreciate that there hasn't been any whining ...

...just "ORDER DATE/SHIP DATE" please...
