Additional 4.6K DNGs to download

PostMon Mar 21, 2016 1:20 am

Hi.

I've got some additional DNG's for downloading.

They are compressed RAW and shot in some trik mixed lighting and low light situations. I have more to come over the next week, but this is a fun start.

ok this a quick grade, its screenshots on half resolution of John's already 4:1 compressed dng's. My computer can't handle the files..still i'm impressed, pushing these Dng's to the limit and still get good results is really a relief for me.
Some of these shots JB used 1600 Iso, and from what i read on his blog, no ND. I raised shadows and exposure, and still get really good results. I'm very happy with what i'm seeing. Anyone that download these new Dng's will know what i'm talking about. Also don't be scared of the mixed light situations like JB mentioned above. I think you guys will be pleasantly Surprised. ;)

Looking for suggestions how to deal with the super hot neon signs in the clip with the midway game being played.

If the issue is saturation, you could simply pull down the top end of the sat versus sat curve. Adjusting the top end of the Lum v Sat curve may also help. One of those two things or a combination is what I usually use to make sure car taillights, police flashers, etc. aren't out of legal range.

EDIT: Forgot to add THANKS JB! Lovely footage! And Digital Pigeon is super fast. A wonderful introduction to them.

Of all the shots, this one is my favorite. I absolutely love that not only can you see the sunset perfectly reflected in the sunglasses, but you can even see the tattoo on his forehead behind them. That is some mind-blowing color detail that this camera is retaining.
