I haven't tried them personally, however they are manual lenses, so there is no auto-info from camera to lens.

I have seen many videos of the rokinon/samyang lens with both BMPC and BMCC

Hi guys,
I have just purchased a BMCC 2.5k EF version.

I'm thinking about getting the Sigma Super Zoom 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Lens for Canon

Can anyone confirm if that it works with the camera?

Thanks :D

You could try this mod for the ef-s lenses

and then EF - MFT Speedbooster to go onto the Pocket,

You will need to research Google, a lot, to find out if the electronics of the zooms will play nice via the speedbooster. The 50 will work no problem.

With possibly a few exceptions, all of the digital EF mount lenses reported as compatible in this thread are also compatible with URSA EF & URSA Mini EF, subject to your own tests.

Concerning LANC, I'm not aware of digital EF mount lenses that support zoom control via LANC. Blackmagic cameras suport iris and focus control via LANC, including for digital EF lenses.

We are seriously considering adding a BMD 1080p camera to our church sanctuary. We want to be sure we have the correct lens. Here's what we are looking for:
1. Optical zoom up to 30x
2. f/1.4 with constant aperture
3. Active features remotely controlled from the control room
4. Tripod mounted focus and zoom controls

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the world of using still camera zoom lenses for video, they are variable in there f/stop, unless you stop them way down. Even a constant f/stop lens like, themPanny 12-35 f/2.8, will shift a little when zoomed at f/2.8, as the light transmission of the lens changes, along with the focal length in relegation to the Iris opening. F/stop is Based on the ratio of the iris opening to focal length, which works for non zoom lenses.

Cine/Video lenses use T scale, which is based on the actual light transmission through the lens (not a math formula), and zoom lenses are designed to keep the light transmission constant, which is why they are more expensive than still zoom lens counterparts. That said,,their are a few still zooms that behave more like a Cine/video zoom (constant f/stop and parfocal) the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, Tokina's designed Cine zooms, based on their still"lenses like the 11-16, and Olympus' Four Thirds Pro f/2.0 Zoom lenses.

These issues with "still" zooms, is why I do not use them for video work anymore, as they can mess up a job very quickly. You have to use still zooms like a variable focal length lens, rather, than as a true zoom. Set the focal length you want, reset the f/stop to where you want it, then Shoot/Roll camera.

stupid question but how do you tell the difference of a canon mk1 and mk2? I have a canon 70-200 f/4L usm but there is nothing about mk 1 or 2. Does that make it a mk1?

Any Canon lens without a roman numeral is either a mark I, or the only lens of its name (focal length, aperture, IS, focus motor). In this case, the 70-200 f/4L USM had no mark II version at least up until now, as it was complimented by the 70-200/4L IS. Therefore, you just have a 70-200/4L USM.

Hello,

I have a Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS II does not work with automatic iris and focus.
If I use with 2x teleconverter, it works perfectly.

I'm using URSA mini 4K EF

I have the Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS, and it works fine. Maybe your contacts aren't lining up?

I only just received my Ursa Mini 4K but can also confirm that it works with the
Canon 50mm f/1.4 as well as the new Tokina EF 11-20mm f/2.8 ATX Pro.

"Great" ... good to know I'm not alone with this problem.

The Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS II a basic optics. I do not understand why it is not supported. I mostly miss the image stabilizer, but it is useless without the iris adjustment. I'm trying a dynamic ND filter. But this may not be the ultimate solution!

Observation: The 70-200 of more contacts on it like most Canon optics (at bayonet)

This is an important problem. :?

Has anyone heard any further news regarding compatibility issues with the EF 24-70 v1??

Mine was only working intermittently on my BMCC. Sometimes it worked perfectly and then other times the f/stop would lock at f/32 (The lens doesn't even have that option, only f/2.8 to f/22).

I really want to follow through with purchasing the 4.6K Ursa Mini, but I don't want to bother if it will end up having the same issues.

Any advice or feedback anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this applies, but when we received our URSA 4K EF we had a Canon 30-105mm cine zoom we immediately mounted. We noticed the back focus was totally out. It was also out on our 11-16mm Tokina. Our dealer's lens tech (after checking with BM's support folks) shimmed the EF sensor using their collimator. The back focus was now perfect and the lens operated as expected. And, it was also perfect on the 11-16. We were surprised to find that the 11-16 now acted like a parfocal lens.

I just tested my old 50mm f1.0 L lens on a 4k ursa mini. It works- as in it powers the fly by wire focus (which I suspect is identical to the mk1 85mm f1.2 as they share many parts).
the body can change the aperture as well.
