Yep, you can sure do it, and I show you some of the lenses I own and have used with our Cinema Camera.

Thanks for posting this, Marco!

Your Sigma 8-16mm results are especially helpful to me. It would be great if you could also show a BMCC frame of the same scene taken at the 16mm end of the lens.

By any chance do you have a Tokina 11-16mm available to test?

Cheers.

Great stuff! The 8mm is indeed quite wide and probably wider than you'd mostly use on a narrative kind of shoot. Fantastic to see the results.

It's funny seeing these blogger/pros posting their results with 15mm Zeiss lenses and admitting defeat, to the chagrin of all their readers who quickly disown the camera as a potential option. Just silly.

Peter: I don't have the Tokina 11-16mm yet. I'd like it, but I'm thinking of waiting for the Mk II to be released before I do. At f/2.8, it's looks like it could be a nice solution as well.

Nick: It amazed me that some people were brewing their own fear that this camera "couldn't shoot wide" before they even saw any in-camera images from an actual wide angle lens. Hopefully my blog post reaches them and their fears will be quelled. It's definitely more than capable in all regards, mattebox included.
