sadly, we pushed the camera too far with low light situations a few times

Loving the aesthetic of the light and colour, really wonderful piece. Some of the early shots 'seem' to be displaying rolling shutter/shakiness that's had warp stabiliser applied to it. It's subtle but it looks a bit odd.

Thank you. True, true. I've misdirected my DOP and adviced him to use 135mm handheld. Fail :) It's the stabilizer in Davinci Resolve, actually.

Loving this camera for aerial work. All except the weight. I wish it was a couple pounds lighter. The global shutter is the cat's meow.

Very cool. My AUW on a skyjib x8 is almost 29 pounds. It's a beast for sure.

Thanks Rick,

Yes, this lens is absolutely fantastic! I love it.

The cool thing is that it gets a decent macro range as well, so very nice close up shots

I just wish they made a 50-100 1.8 in the same ART series :D ... wishful thinking

For outdoors shots, I pair it up witha genus eclipse and tiffen t1 ir filter , so i always stay around 1.8 when needed

Would be useful as well if they'd do a 35-105 or 24-70 or even 35-70 as long as it matched the performance of the 18-35. Fast zooms (with optical stabilization) in an affordable price range that could work well on BMCC, BMPCC, and BMPC4K.

Hi everyone. I just shot a short promo piece on my BMCC for this amazing BBoy dancer here in Atlanta. It was a nighttime scene so I brought out one of my LED lights and hooked it up to my UPS (battery backup) that I have at home for my computer.
Video was shot in prores mode. I used Red Giant Software's Denoiser II and added a little post sharpening to combat the the noise caused by bringing up the exposure so much in post.
Thanks for watching!

Wonderful colour and overall story. Loved the instruments and the lighting, especially when the singer opens the curtains and almost disappears in the flood of light (maybe that could have been the ending with a fade to white rather than the ending you chose with her walking into the camera and fade to black. Just a suggestion. It's charming as is.

Thanks for the feedback rick, great idea for the fade to white. The truth is that the last shot is my worst because she is to fake and confused .

I agree, it's very boobs, I ment, ekhm, very nice shots. I'd cut it to 3 minutes, tough, the song gets so repetitive after that... Maybe cause I don't understand anything :) Makush, makush. Good work!

Heres a test title sequence , for the kind of film I'd love to make, shot prores on the BMCC MFT -

and a quick promo for ASTON MARTIN also shot prores on the BMCC MFT

On the Aston shoot I tried out the Sigma 18-35mm with a speedbooster for a lot of the shots .
Also ,though we didnt take much sound - I found the audio level meters on the marshall 7inch monitor very handy ( the audio levels being fed from SDI out , on camera )

A run&gun mini documentary.
Shot this with a friend over spring break, we gave away care packages with food and toiletry necessities, in return we got a few interviews. In this particular one, Jermaine has been living on he streets of D.C. for 11 years.

A few months ago I had to visit St. Louis Mo. for some business meetings.. and packed along my new BMPCC and just one simple Lumix 20mm lens and one of those little tiny 4 inch tall tripods. Nothing else. After my meetings were over, I was lucky that I had a crystal clear day with not a cloud in the sky and spent a few hours in the shivering cold capturing a few shots of the St. Louis Gateway arch. There's also some GoPro shots in here too taken from a prior trip from inside the top of the arch. The BMPCC shots were shot using the Cinema DNG RAW.

Another BMPC4k Test

PostFri Mar 28, 2014 6:37 pm

I have been enjoying the 4k camera quite a bit, and although it definitely does have some issues, I'm quite pleased with it. Here is a quick test I put together with a Canon 7D as reference. Feedback welcome!

An etude on scoring music and shooting with the BMPCC

PostMon Apr 21, 2014 4:13 pm

Alright, my first BMPCC footage on Vimeo... be gentle, I don't do this for a living :D

The challenge: Paris, five days, one lens, BMPCC, and no tripod. Also, I wanted to write some music

I'm still trying to get a hang of this little thing.. focusing and fiddling around with settings is tricky when you're running around. The reported firmware would have been super handy but I was a few weeks short.

Hello,

New short film I shot on the BMCC in March titled 'Hate Thy Neighbor'.

Synopsis
Enemy neighbors Will and Kevin, put aside their differences when they stumble across something that only exist in fairy-tales.

Hope you like it from the story to the look.

Hey bro, great capture.
I shoot performances too, so I also deal with negative space above and below the performers.
To combat this I've started my own technique to tone down the volume on the non-active areas.
(I want to claim this as my own invention/idea, but it's possible people have done it before.)

I use crumblepop to blur the upper and lower parts of the air above the performers and the audience below, which invariably get captured in long, wide shots. I've had compliments on it, as it helps hide the distractions caused by the audience moving around, bald spots, and basically force focus onto the performers. Here's an example;

Image

Top image is the original, middle is with the blurring technique, or "shrink ray" effect, bottom is just an undersaturated area to show where the blurring is.
In this particular example, I'm shooting down from up high, but I normally do the opposite, so this technique also helps hide stage lights and ceilings. Of course, the shrink ray is nothing new, but I haven't seen anyone else use it in a performance capture setting before. You might like it, might not, just wanted to share!

NOT OFFICIAL LOOK! NOT FINAL COLOR GRADE!

A still from some of the footage shot of an in production music video. Here it is with a LUT applied from the OSIRIS LUT package from http://www.colorgradingcentral.com to give it something more than LOG. This footage still looks amazing, even in LOG.

Shot on BMCC 2.5K EF
24mm Rokinon
Tiffen Linear Polarizer

2-3 more days of shooting depending on weather. We're only allowed 4-5 hours in the day to work with the kid and the kid is in the whole music video. I'll post the final music video later when it's done.

Great stuff people have posted, makes one humble... I keep my Pocket with me practically all the time, and shoot random things for the sake of learning RAW processing in Adobe Camera Raw in After Effects:

Can I benefit from grading with Resolve Lite?

Polish European Parliment elections advert:

Very quick job, BMCC 2.5k, working with available light, so blown out here and there, but I think it holds up :)

Just bought a slightly used BMPCC. Then I added the Metabones adaptor. This was shot RAW with a Nikon G 35mm 1.8 lens.

We got the BMPCC about 3 weeks ago and started shooting music videos with classical concert pianist Eduardo Rojas. Here is our first attempt with the Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens and the SpeedBooster adapter. Enjoy!

I've had the BMPCC for a while now, and I just made this video for my final project for a class, all shot on the lumix 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 handheld with no stabilization.

Do you have more than one BMPCC, or did you just have him play the piece multiple times?

The audio is expectational, though I felt the opening was paced too quick, and the fading to black was odd.
The end credits should have used a similar font from the beginning credits, or at least a more dignified font than the FCP template font.

Just an opinion, but I felt the last shot of his shoe was kind of silly.
I play the piano as well, and I wouldn't want the last image we see of my performance to be my foot.
I get that it's the last remnant of the note behind held, but it was odd.
I'd rather have seen a view from the head of the piano looking at the pianist lifting his hand with a slight smile. I'm guessing that was likely the director's call, but it was a weird decision.
