Working on a new live session, this is an early version. I need to tweak the grade on some shots. The wide angle is shot with the BMC, the focus is a bit off on the wide end of the Rails tho.

(The close ups are shot with Canon 7d and Canon 5Dmk3).
This is my first production with the BMC, really satisfied with the image it produces. Will be uploading some great stuff soon.

If i'm not mistaken, you can actually get a glimpse of the BMCC in the closeups of the singer around 0:44...

Here's a quick music vid I shot for a mate who wanted to capture his home town outside Glasgow:

As it's a slightly rough place wanted to be as low profile as possible, so this is was barebones despite having rigs, evf, etc sitting at home. Lens is a Simga 17-50 f2.8.

Just posting to share, not looking for criquites. It's certainly not a perfect production by any means. It is what it is.

Here's a fun commercial spot we shot entirely on the Blackmagic Cinema camera. Yes, it's heavily treated but shooting in RAW gave the team a lot of flexibility in post.

We shot with a Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Prores, film, and with RED scarlet. The footage inter-cut rather nicely.

Second Episode of UnGoverned Reality Man YouTube has **** for compression!

As you can tell I have had no professional or academic training in regards to editing or color grading...all just from practice...is it horrible? Mainly for family and friends as I am military and live hundreds of kilometers away from Family.

Entertaining again! Bruce Peninsula is still southern Ontario but you weren't far away from northern Ontario.

Here's a music video I DOP'd for a local metal band starting to make some waves nationally and overseas; Make Them Suffer. Not a fan of metal myself but I am really happy with how this one turned out. Shot about half and half with the BMCC and RED. The band stuff is a mix of both, the stuff with the leaves is RED and the stuff in the cave is BMCC.

After i muted the sound, i enjoyed the look. Both cameras intermixed quite nicely, and at least on youtubes compression were very well on par.

Thanks for watching Rick - and yeah I definitely prefer not to use wider focal lengths - I guess it's just a preference thing.

Hi all:
Yesterday, I journeyed from Phoenix to Prescott, Arizona to film a wildfire that is called "Doce" and is out of control as of yesterday. I filmed it from several locations. Access roads that would have gotten us closer to the fire were all blocked by police, therefore I had to film with longer lenses. With the 2.3 conversion factor for the BMCC, that made my 200mm with a coupler 940mm. It was very windy and pretty difficult to keep the camera steady, especially when filming at 940mm. I shot everything Pro res. I did some time-lapse but using 2 seconds, it was much too fast as the wind pushed the smoke. I'll add some additional footage, but for now, here is a very quick YouTube. I used my Canon lenses 17-55 F 2.8, 24-105 F.4 and my 70-200 F.4

I was tempted to start a new thread titled "BUICK COMMERCIAL SHOT ON BMCC!!" but I figured that would be a bit too cheeky. My friend and I spent 30 minutes shooting this goofy thing wherein he promotes his beat up Buick. Add another 10 minutes of improvised narration recording and a couple hours of editing and viola, Buick Commercial.

Lens used was a 17-50mm 2.8 Tamron, sadly no ND filters. Shot in ProRes. We wanted a really exaggerated / over produced look, so I threw a ton of filters at it all done in FCPX. I used the BMCC Unflattenner filter from Lock X Load, added film grain with the stuck FCPX effect, added a blue "cool" tone, and then the light leaks were some random effect I had added in FCPX. Anyways, hopefully you'll laugh and not think I'm wasting the great BMCC, heh.

Shoot first, test later! After immediately shooting a commercial with my new BMCC, I finally got a chance to take it for a stroll at the local municipal park and duck pond. I went with black and white because I haven't seen anyone else do it and it helps bring out the textures. The b+w and Cinemascope crop were all post decisions, as was the song by Indigo Girls, "Closer To Fine." Enjoy!

We recently took part in the Greensboro leg of the 48 Hour Film Competition and used the BMCC. Obviously because we had such a small time for post we shot in ProRes but the quality defiantly stood out among the others. Give it a gander and feedback is always welcome.

The blackmagic is amazing when improved by Da Vinci Resolve. I'am the camera operator and i color graded the film. BlackMagic is a company which likes the art of image, and i think we all can excuse them of their industry problems.

Most of the shots are from my BMCC, a few are from a Sony PMW-350, and two shots are from my Canon XH-A1. Would like to see if someone can guess which shots are not BMCC.

Almost all BMCC footage was shot in RAW and was processed in After Effects via ACR, exported as Cineform 4:2:2 12bit.

But, her name is Karolina.

"The Bag" is a proper narrative short film with a script, actors, crew, etc; "Woman in white dress" is a camera test. I was getting drama from the script and performances in "The Bag." There was no performance in "Woman"...it was just a series of images. No plot. No drama. There also was no female character in "The Bag." I just don't see how the two videos compare.

Also, "The Bag" looks marvelous. If that kind of movie isn't your cup of tea, that's fine, but a camera test does not compete with a proper motion picture in terms of drama. Karolina has nice eyes, I agree, but, she's just looking into the lens. She's pretty, but I don't know or care about her. Give me a documentary about her and maybe I'll gain some insight into her life story and start to care a little bit, but green-eyed Afghan girl on the cover of National Geographic, she ain't.
