As the description there relates, I decided not to go with beauty shots, with newly purchased glass and kit, but, instead to use what I had at hand, go out at the worst times of day and shoot subject matter that would let me know the boundaries of what I could do. Sometimes I went too far and there is still an adjustment period as I learn what I need to concentrate on with this camera that's different from the previous cameras I've used.

Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase. (And for those that saw a recent post of mine here right after I got it, the "ok" button sticking problem is nearly completely gone. I can now get the 1:1 zoom function to work so future videos will be better focused.

On the technical side, since I didn't have ND glass, I ended up setting the shutter angle at its shortest setting (45.0) instead. For the most part, it is not distracting in the image and allowed me to shoot in the high intensity light. I played with the ISO but I think I kept it at 800 to keep the noise at a default level since I was messing around with so much else. Some of the shots where in deep shadow which, to make the video I raise considerably in Davinci. It's amazing how much latitude you have (I shot 'Film' mode exclusively) to be able to play with when coloring.

Here is a behind the scenes video I made.
BMCC, Film, ProRes. I only used a Rokinon 24mm cine lens too, most of the time it was close to wide open with a cheap vari ND on it.
Relatively quick grade in FCP 7.
Audio was captured with a Rode NTG3 into a Juicedlink Riggymicro, straight into the cam.
The Timelapse was captured with a 5Dmkii and the black and white flashy stuff is footage from the actual campaign which was shot on RED.
video embeds don't seem to work, so here is the link to it (it's the 2nd video with the guy giving a thumbs up)

Got my camera last Monday. First real attempt at shooting something other than the view out my window. Gotta say, this camera + resolve is awesome! Just need more drive space now...

Little film I shot and edited over the weekend. Was mainly to test out how the Rokinon 16mm T2.2 and camera does in low light. Enjoy.

My first test video with the BMPCC.

I'm new at this. Haven't learned color grading yet. The post was done by applying the Auto Color effect in Premiere Pro CC to the clips. The heron clips also had the Warp Stabilizer effect applied. On export I chose Quicktime with default settings and uploaded that to Vimeo. Audio is just whatever came in on the mic, didn't do anything with that. I did notice some degradation in Vimeo, e.g. the duck's heads were a nicer metallic green in the exported movie and a little duller on Vimeo.

Shot with the Panasonic 12-35 f2.8 fully zoomed and image stabilization on. BMPCC on a Zacuto Marauder rig. f2.8 and a Tiffen variable ND, film mode, 172.8 degrees, 24 fps.

I'm sure the clips could be far better if I were more experienced with the Adobe CC tools (happy to share the ProRes clips with anyone who would like to demo what is actually possible). Still I'm quite happy with the camera and initial effort.

Just an experiment with new camera. I wanted to know what I can afford.
This camera is a big disappointment, but not so great for the price.
Many features works on half, with errors or not. Or some basic features are missing.
It is inconceivable that customers are cheated by Blackmagic Design. Or are they in BMD such rednecks?

Took the camera out of the box the night before, charged it up, put a new battery in my gossen light meter and hit record!

All the poor lighting is intentional. There was something liberating about doing a clip that had to look so shoddy.

BMCC MFT, all shot raw, with a few 7D B cam shots thrown in. All Nikon lenses with a cheap MFT adapter. Graded in resolve and film grain thrown in with film convert.

This time the editing has been more intense, and I worked with ProRes clip in After Effects too, not just in Final Cut Pro.

btw. we had a problem with BMCC and my set Carl Zeiss prime lenses. All of them had issue with infinity focus. so, I called to BMD support and Julian Fine was so great and helpful. We finished movie on time just because of him. Thanks to Julian! I was kinda skeptic to BMD back to the days, but professionals like Julian really changes the vision of the company. THANKS THANKS THANKS!

Well, this one was shot not by me but by my 1st AD — we just got the BMPCC and screwed on a Leica/Leitz 2/35 through a Metabones L/M–m4/3 adapter and off she went with a simplified Jag35 rig to stabilise the whole contraption to shoot a reportage from a jewellery brand launch in Moscow, Russia — Velar is a very tiny jewellery boutique from Kiev, Ukraine, and our friends, so we gladly agreed to shoot a short docu and edit it and make it, um, somewhat presentable. Shot in available-low-light in ProRes, graded in Resolve Lite:

I have just begun playing with my BMPCC. Before I got it, I did a lot of shooting with an Olympus Micro 4/3 camera, which I used with a lot of different "legacy" (old) lenses, and some weird fun cheap lenses, like the Fujian C mount CCTV lens I got for about $30. Sure enough, this lens works on the BMPCC too, and it's a fun, fast (f1.7) cheap option. It's manual only, but it has a "stopless" aperture so you could conceivably adjust the iris while you're rolling and you don't get the sudden jumps in exposure you get with a DSLR lens.

Anyway, here's a little test with my cheap 35mm Fujian CCTV lens. My color correction might be a little overdone. What do you think?
