It should perform very well for chroma keying and VFX.

Chroma Keying works when you light properly, then even a 4:2:0 sampled video will key well.

Both RAW and Prores will be fine for your kind of work. The camera is great for controlled lighting conditions.

Well, until we see a test...we'll never know right?

Know what? That the BMC can't reproduce green from a debayer algorithm?

The usual limiting factor in chroma keying is the codec, a bad one will try to confuse even the best keying tools. The BMC shoots RAW uncompressed - the camera is not going to be in the way at all.

considering that the BMC shoots raw dng files which have more color information then any other raw (red or cine) and quite a bit more then prores or any other codec and because of the open standard can be worked with pretty much anything including photshop and illustrator......i would say yes....shooting raw on the BMC should give you about as good a result for chroma key and fx work as the best cameras out there.....
i have been playing with the raw dng files available to use for still work and the detail and low compression is wonderful for enlarging the files....

Yes, the lack of AA filtering and shots of a resolution chart that show some pretty significant aliasing causes some folks to reassess how well they think the BMC will key.
