i have heard doddle talks with an interview of dan may from black magic cinema camera http://news.doddleme.com/equipment/dodd ... ic-update/

are they prime to go for a new BMCC 2 camera that sport a new sensor and everything that are not working so that they can manage to create a good one out of this mistakes? i think what really is the problem is having to fix the sensor and not just make another good one its like "its better and cost effective to build a new house than renovate the half of it"

For those that haven't listen to the interview, the Blackmagic rep talks about how he's really excited about NAB 2013 because they apparently have some amazing things to announce.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Keep in mind that Blackmagic make a whole lot of other products that are not cameras.

Most likely, any BMCC related announcements won't involve new cameras, other than the MFT version of the BMCC. Hopefully they'll be giving us some good news about their production. It's more likely that camera-related updates would involve the BMCC's firmware and ancillary stuff to work with it, like possibly new field monitors, recording tools, and even Resolve updates.

Even if they did announce a new camera...I would bet it would be months before they planned to ship it anyway. So if they announce a new camera that they hope to ship in Oct...means you could prolly get it in December. I think that could be possible.

Most cameras at this price point see revisions every 18-24 months.

Guess they will announce that they finally ship the BMC.

Dan also said that they dont think they'll beat last year in terms of how crazy the response was and that they're not trying to. That doesnt sound like a new camera to me. I wouldn't read into it too much. Maybe for NAB 2014. The BMCC v1 is still just getting out there.

I think a new camera will come next year. The current BMCC hasn't even gained proper momentum. There'll probably be new features for the BMCC firmware in the meantime.

and the answer is yes lol damn but i hope the shipping for this new camera is a lot more promising because i think they are better off making a new design sensor than just fixing the old one.

This post is a little funny now seeing how wrong everyone in here was but who knew right?!
