Hey Guys. I am sure everyone has the BIG question as to when the Black Magic cameras will arrive to the authorized dealers.. but I am hoping that someone or even Black Magic can shed some light as to what exactly does shipping in "small" quantities really mean?
Are we talking 5 ... 10...20.. cameras to each authorized dealer at a time.? Just thought I'd ask since BMD is used to working with mass quantities..what is small to BMD?

Well CVP contacted me yesterday and they said they have the biggest order in Europe and they are only receiving 30 units of the 200 they have ordered, they currently have 148 pre orders. So the bigger question is when will we get the second more mass production unit.

I don't know if this information is correct, and I'd prefer hearing from BMD themselves, but FYI: The following was just posted in the "shipping status" thread on another BMCC forum:

"I just got word that the initial manufacturing run for the cameras is going to be around 6,000 units. ..."

If true, hopefully it means the manufacturing ramp-up will start very soon. Cheers.

cvp are getting 2 a week - so far they have received 10-12.

Their initial order was 100 units.

Just asked cvp on twitter.

Their numbers corroborate with my own estimations, 12 units, not 30.

No idea who told you 30!
