Wireless Audio Cables

PostTue Sep 04, 2012 3:32 am

I have 2 sets of UVW sony series Wireless mics. at the moment they have XLR connectors to suit my existing camera.

Does anyone know can I,

a) Buy new Cables Mini-Jack to 1/4 inch for the BMCC? If so, will these work fine?

b) just remove the XLR and replace with a 1/4 plug?

Either solution is fine as i will need to be able to get Wireless audio to the camera when it arrives.

I believe the BMCC is expecting a TRS 1/4" Balanced audio input so, yes, you should be able to either make a new cable to connect the receivers, or simply adapt the on you already have.

The specific pin-out might be in the manual, otherwise a quick test with a multimeter will tell you.

A good reference for audio wiring pinouts is here:
