Just walkabout footage, nothing too crazy, a few people have asked (a number of times!) to see footage from the SLR 25/0.95 lowlight, so I took it out while we went for some Food Cart eats. Just in case some haven't spotted the link.

Slightly more info at the vimeo page.

Very very happy with the combination. Was quite surprised to see how the 25/0.95 and 800 ISO played under simple street lamp, and then the shot of the girls under the strand lights... made me nod my head and go "Cool, so I can actually PLAN to shoot like this from the get-go."

Once Moire has a solution I won't have a single thing to "complain" about.

Haha yeah, there were quite a few people that recognized it, and even came up to ask to hold the camera. I was kind of scared, but I let them!

Footage looks great! I have the same lenses, just waiting for the camera, so thank you for letting me know when I'll be able to get with those lenses!

nice footage. it also seems that the bmc is small enough not to generate the "oh look a camera!" from running about in a crowd... unless you cut all that out so we didnt have to look at people going, "oh look, a camera!"

Nah, didn't edit anyone out! You can see a lot of people glancing at the camera, and I could hear people commenting on it.

IT really wasn't that small, not with the cage and handle on it. Or, well, it's not huge either, just not tiny enough to go unnoticed.

Is there something about the camera that requires a beta testing? (change in specs, etc..)

Or are you guys sworn to secrecy, and only allow to upload footage and such? [pretty sure I already know the answer  ]

Haha, we're all here to help you guys receive a camera with fewer kinks. xP

Sorry, I missed this. I wouldnt' declare either one a clear winner, they produce a different image at nearly every aperture. If they were priced the same, I still think people would have an issue deciding which one.

For example, the Voigtlander is more neutral, the SLRMagic has a slight warm bias. Depending on how you like to acquire an image for color later, or shoot for the look, that affects your decision.

The Voigtlander has less CA up to 2, but the SLRmagic is sharper hands down at 0.95 to 2. So do you want a lens that rocks at 0.95 or one that has less CA at those apertures?

There are a few other things to contrast and compare, those are just examples.

If you're asking me which one I would choose? SLRmagic. =] When I choose a lens I'd like to be able to use it, with confidence, at its widest advertised aperture. I do not think the Voigt is good wide open, to me it's almost unusable.

The SLRMagic is as sharp at 0.95 as a lot of 1.4~2.0's that I've used, which says a lot.
