Widest Super16 lens that exists?

Posted: Thu Apr 11, 2013 5:06 amI don't know if a C-mount conv. is possible or not. Not yet confirmed, but if it is, you can get as wide as 7. Which would roughly be 20mm in Full frame conversion.

Yeah but with the Pocket Cam I would think any Primary/Walk around lens you would want IS??
So we need the fastest/sharpest/widest/stabilized lens for the pocket cam???

Widest modern lens is probably the Panasonic 7-14mm f/4.0. This is equivalent to a 21mm lens on a Full Frame camera or a 13.1mm lens on an APS-C DSLR. It's not very fast though. IS isn't really necessary for such a wide lens, especially if you are flying it on a steadicam.

Maybe not on a Steadicam, but the Pocket cam hand held? lol good luck with no IS.

but yeah it would help, But you would look the fool
It's all in the IS baby! Be free, Shoot free, smoke??? Ummm never mind.
Just use lenses with IS when you can

Posted: Thu Apr 11, 2013 12:47 pmWith a PL mount, you can get very wide. 9.5mm is a common S16mm wide lens, there is also an 8R from Zeiss (8mm rectilinear) as well as Kinoptik (spelling?) 5.7mm that pops up a bit on e bay. I haven't personally used that lens; but normally when I'm flying on m SR3, I throw either the 9.5 or the 12mm on her.
