ThunderBolt to HDMI? Possible?

PostMon Apr 15, 2013 5:25 am

I have been looking into getting a monitor for my BMCC, Converters are great and all for SDI( bit costly)..but I believe thunderbolt has so much more potential than what it is right now.

Besides Ultrascopes, and capture it really has no other use. Which I find a little lacking seeing as it has so much capabilities hardware wise. ( has a bunch of bandwidth for data to move through... )

I have been looking at these thunderbolt to HMDI cable's, But of course I don't believe it will work as of now without some sort of software support in camera ( if it is even possible of course.)

I'd would love to see some implementation of an HMDI interface through Thunderbolt ( so it can be used for standalone monitoring ) and/or the possibility of data transfer through thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt seems to be a growing/supported technology that Intel seems to be dedicated on improving. ( as we saw this year at NAB with the new beefy speed boosts. )

Anyway just a thought for a future firmware update, if its possible...

Holy repost Batman.

But honestly, I share your sentiment, but from what the folks at BMCC say, it's simply not possible.
