Testicular cancer awareness month.

Just the notion of it may well prompt the contents of that noble sac to flee skywards in search of a safe space somewhere each side of your larynx.

Earlier this week, local cinematographer Gavan O'Sullivan borrowed the big URSA 4K PL to shoot the opening slow-mo of this public service spot hosted by Bettina Arndt. It might be seen as provocative by some.

For the technically inclined, ISO was 400, the camera frame rate was set at 80P, recorded to ProResHQ set to a base frame rate of 25P recorded to Lexar 64GB 3400x cards. Lens was a Sigma-for-Nikon 50mm-500mm f4-f6.3 zoom at near-to wide open with a ND6 filter in a custom Nikon F-Mount.

The camera switched on, did its thing, switched off and went back home in its case with no fuss of any kind, which is what tools of trade should be.

The intention was to replicate as faithfully as possible, the look of the telephoto vision from South Africa which has become legend.

Thank you for being open about this. Raising awareness, which leads to catching cancers earlier, is clearly a good thing.
