Crazy! i suppose many people will cancel their preorders for the EF version.
hopefully someone form BMD can answer this, does adding a micro four thirds version mean the original BMC production will slow down?

This is great news, period. Manual m43 lenses like those from Voightlander, and easy to adapt to PL cinema lenses. I get it.
As a GH2 owner, I also own several Lumix electronic lenses, so I would have much preferred an electronic m43 mount, not passive.
But I'm guessing an electronic m43 mount would cost more and/or take much longer for BMD to engineer & ship?
Wow, decisions, desisions!

Thank you very much for caring about user's needs!
I have never seen a company acting that way before. That's great news.

This is - next to the battery - my main critique on the camera. the lens mount. From the design, there seems nor reason why this could not have been a interchangeable mounting system. I would gladly pay $200-$300 more if I would get the same camera with an adapter instead of a fixed mount.
The lens choice is very limited as it is, giving it a m4/3 mount makes sense and so would a PL, but since most invested in the EF lenses over the last years, making a hard turn and re-investing is just too much, especially if I would need two cameras if I want to utilize all types of lenses.
Make a interchangeable version, with an external battery (could be under the camera, like a detachable base) and a detachable cloth hood for the sun-shade and higher FPS (maybe up to 720p@120fps) and add $300. That would be my wish-list camera.

Micro 4/3 is a great news. Could someone explain to me could we use super 16 lenses on this sensor or some c mount lenses. One good super 16 zoom lens ( 10-100) could give us a almost all we need in terms of filed of view. Cheers.

Awesome! One adapter, and all the great PL cine lenses fit.
But Blackmagic should stop this heresy of listening to its customers. What's to become of the competition?
Cheers.

Is there a specific BMCC M4T - PL mount, or is there a general PL mount for M4T at a resonable price.
If I can easly mount PL lenses to the BMCC, then it will make things a lot easier.
Cheers.

Having a lot of EF lenses but wanting that Voigtlander NOKTON F0.95 17.5mm, should i order a BMCC with MTF mount and use a MTF to EOS adapter?
That way i could use both.
Am i thinking right?

Great thanks for MFT!!
But why it is passive, I prefer new mft lens with automatic iris. What should I do, always use GH2 to change the iris?! I think its a bad way.

first: i am blown away...i have never seen any company adjust so fast to what the customer asks for....amazing and really makes me feel very good about buying my first blackmagic product...
passive MFT mount means no lenses without aperture ring on the lens? correct?

It might be passive now but you never know with updates.
December is a long time away.

This is GREAT NEWS. However if I keep my EOS pre-order will there be an option later to switch out the lens mount to MFT? By BMD or Hot Rod perhaps?
If I wasn't so high on the EOS pre order list, I'd just wait for MFT.....but considering I already PAID for the camera in April I'd like to not have to wait.

Yes. Absolutely any
manual lens that can be adapted to m43 will work. The only exception will be lenses that protrude too far towards the rear, hitting the sensor. Such lenses are rare, but they do exist.
Electronic m43 lenses (such as Lumix brand) will
not work at all. They can be physically mounted on the cam, but their aperture and focus (nor the motor zoom models) are not supported and can't be used -- because the BMCC m43 mount is passive.

so people say EF mount makes no sense because the 2.4x crop factor, and they want M43 mount to avoid that and that's why this camera is not good....
And now it goes M43 and everybody is so happy for using PL mount and other 35mm sensor lenses. I still don't get it...
Am I wrong or missing something here?

The idea is that on mount 43 you have a wider and cheaper variety for wide angle lenses because there are designed with that sensor size in mind. Ef lenses are oriented towards Full-Frame, APS-C and similar crop factors.
