A Word About Playback in BMCC

PostFri Apr 26, 2013 4:44 am

If this is in the manual, sorry! But I had a heart attack on set yesterday and thought I would share a tidbit about this camera:

It will only playback clips in whatever record mode it is currently in.

I was on a shoot yesterday where I was shooting ProRes and had to switch over to RAW for a couple shots in a room with big windows. I got the shots and went back to ProRes. At the end of the day, I panicked when playing back the clips and the RAW shots were gone!

Luckily I have worked with Panasonics some and they are the same way, so I thought to switch the camera back to RAW and happily found my clips.

Just FYI...
