Can someone help me??

I am only familiar with dslr and it says 24p but I believe really shoots 23.98 .. Can someone please explain to me what the real 24p (on the blackmagic camera) is compared to 23.98 .. Which do I use

23.976 and 24.000 are very different frame rates when it comes to workflow and you need to choose the correct speed based on the workflow you are trying to achieve. In NTSC based countries, where video is not 30fps but 29.97 (30x(1000/1001). In order for 24.000fps to fit nicely within that rate, the same (1000/1001) is applied to 24 and you get 23.976. This creates a nice continuous 2:3 pulldown cadence between the two. 24.000 does not, but 24.000 is used in PAL based countries along with 25.000fps.

So for US-based productions, unless specified, 23.976 will be the better rate to work with compared to 24.000. But if a camera was a B camera or crash cam for a film shoot at 24.000 and there was sync sound, then you would want to record at 24.000.

Thanks ... So only if I plan. To shoot something in a theatre shoot 24p ... What about blu-ray that can do native 24p right ?
