So I've finally gotten the cable pack:

First thing I ran into, was the inner dimension of the barrel connector (coaxial cable version) being 2.5mm which doesn't match my Ikan battery sled that I originally got for the prior Pocket, which requires a 2.1mm inner dimension (with the same 5.5mm outer dimension).

Just something to be looking closely at when you put together your kit. Glad these are finally shipping.

Cinegear pro do a d-tap cable (and they're in stock) if you're in the UK. Just got one for a job at the weekend and it worked fine.

A month or so later, and it looks like there are a lot of D-TAP to 2pin connectors now. I ordered one from Amazon for $35 (KONDOR BLUE 20") that has 5/5 rating (by only 2 people. lol).

One thing I am exploring for a fun side project is just putting together 4 3.7v 18650 batteries and probably cutting my AC/DC cord that came with camera and using the 2pin side as I will never power the camera via AC. Could also add adapters to the end to allow for the AC to be used again as well if needed.

At any rate, lot of 4 battery 18650 adapters in the works. Couple folks here posted some, so looking forward to something more rugged when its ready. In the meantime figured I'd grab one of those cheap PCBs and wire up the 18650s (via a 4 slot 18650 holder), and see how it fairs. Seems like its the best of everything.. mountable and light enough, easy to swap 4 batteries with new ones, and light enough to carry a good dozen or so extra in a bag or more. Supposedly should last about 2 to 3 hours of record time with the SSD recording. I am looking to see if this would be viable to power my MixPre 10T as well as monitor as well. More so for using it on a steadicam or gimbal, than tripod, which I would use my vmount setup for.

They also do a ronin-s cable that goes straight into this socket everyone is talking about.
I’m in Australia and I ordered a few of them fine!

It will be great to have the gimbal power the camera and still have a lpe6 in the body to help balance the gimbal and also as a backup.

I’ve not had wonderful results with the dummy batteries.

That is good to hear. My concern is that 4 18650s are 14.8v, and around 45wh, but would there be any issues using it.. e.g. anything that could damage the camera?

I saw from DIY projects that it looks like there is a PCB for about $8 or so, that you would want that you solder some of the leads from the battery holder to, but wasnt entirely sure what that was about. I thought it made it so you could charge all 4 cells in the holder. For me I have a good charger already, so I mostly wanted to be able to just put the 4 18650s together, and see how long it can power the camera, but safely without damaging it.

There are a few folks building some nice 18650 setups with mounting options, etc. But what I am not clear on is if you need regulated output from those, or if that 12v to 20v input range means the BM camera, at least via the 2pin plug, regulates the power coming in to it, itself, so that just a pure 14.8v output would be fine, or if I need to add some sort of extra to the battery enclosure to regulate the output?

Looking at alternative power packs to use externally. Does this drive enough power to feasibly plug in the included P4K charging brick and run the camera off of?

Has anyone purchased the Lanparte power cable that has a regulator?

http://www.lanparte.com/Product/info_45_itemid_765.html

I have a Hawkwoods battery plate that is made for two NP-F batteries with output of 11-17V. The Pocket DC input is rated from 10.8V to 20V max.

Is there any advantage using the regulated power cable in this scenario?

Hi all.
Just managed to do my own cable.
Bought the connector form a local store, ~ USD 10 (still expensive, I think).
Had hard time to find the correct polarity, and finally found it here:
https://woodencamera.com/products/power ... customizer
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0017/ ... 1564608960
Looking to the front of the connector, e.g. the cable goes away of you, the left pin is 12+ and the right one is 12- (ground).
You can also make a picture and enlarge and you'll see 1 and 2 marked above the pins. So, 1 is +, and 2 is -.
I will use another plug on the other end, so I can attach cable from my Moza, or from external battery.

Due to the tiny place to solder the cable, always check no short circuit before and after closing the connector!

Good luck.
