I got a used CFast card and just pushed a new (public) beta version that finally supports both storage slots.
It also supports not-yet-known cameras better
and may possibly fix the 1 (one) smartwatch-related crash I got reports via Google Play Store.

https://marcuswolschon.blogspot.com/201 ... ocket.html

Update: Displaying and changing storage cards is not implemented and part of the latest relase-version.

If someone could try the app with an URSA Broadcast, that would be great.
It should ask when detecting an unknown camera and the email program should open
with a pre-typed email to me containing all the data I need.

Strange. That should not happen.
I'll try to set up an emulator for Android 8.0 and manipulate a copy of the app, to get the dialog.
(No Bluetooth in an emulator.)

Update: This may take a while longer. There seems to be known issue in Android Build Tools 28.0.0. :(

Damn.
What's the camera firmware version?

There was no dialog "Unknown camera model.Would you like to tell us about it?" Yes/No ?

Using latest firmware for Broadcast 5.1

Brought up all codex options for Mini Pro, not broadcast.

and correct - no dialog re camera type.

Thanks.

Chooser Dialog with no buttons:
It could be that they changed the default colors and the buttons are merely white on white in this Android version.
If so, then I just fixed it in the public beta version 1.2.15 of the app.

Camera Dialog:
If it doesn't come up, that would mean the URSA Broadcast identifies as an URSA Mini Pro or a BMPC4K or not at all via Bluetooth.
Bugger!

Record:
My BMPC4K uses Firmware 5.2 .
I would guess that the UMP that was tried and works fine would have had Firmware 6.0.
I did just fix a very minor thing with the record-command
(10.1 "media transport mode" was missing a 0-padding for a 32bit boundary at the end)
that was always ignored by my BMPC4K and by the UMP. Maybe firmware 5.1 was more strict here.
I'm publishing the fix as a public Beta version"1.2.15" of the app.

It's well past midnight, I'm running out of caffeine and I'll be away for the holidays.
I don't think this will be solved easily without getting my hands on an URSA Broadcast.
Maybe something comes up during the 35C3 in Leipzig in-between the holidays. Probably not.

Can I contact you via PM, when I have come up with something we can try?

I have confirmed it's a white on white problem, the set and cancel are there but cannot be seen. How do I update to 1.2.15?

At
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/bi ... cc4krecord
you can choose to also get Beta-versions instead of just the release-versions.

PS:
I Finally figured out what I did wrong in decoding the fixed-decimal f-stop numbers sent by the camera.
Aperture control is coming after the holidays.

By starting the recording.
Then the buttons change from save to restore.
Not the most intuitive way but the best I could come up with in the limited screen real estate at that point.

Wow, so simple)

Yes, it is not very intuitive). Please consider making it more accessible.
Since it is normal to spend from 20 to 80% for a rehearsal without recording (this is not about the cards memory, but about managing media), it would be great to do it on separate screen, or may be on the main screen.

Thanks!

Version 1.2.19 of my Android app is published now.
Aperture and Gain can now be controlled and the UI has been cleaned up a lot (There will be more cleanup later. Especially on the Wireless-Focus screen.).

With firmware 6.2 I'll make the Blackmagic Raw that already works for the URSA Mini Pro selectable for the Pocket 4K.
However there is no way to detect if the camera has the firmware update and thus supports BM-Raw and no longer supports Cinema-DNG.

When making BM-Raw selectable on both cameras, should I keep Cinema-DNG in there or remove it or add a warning?

There is a new release, allowing to select Blackmagic Raw for the BMPCC4K too (and not just for the URSA Mini Pro).

There is a new, public BETA version with fixed for icon-color and a new, experimental screen for programmable focus transitions with duration, soft start and a soft ease-out.

Version 1.2.29 released.
The programmable focus transisions with duration and east in/out are not part of the stable release (formerly only part of the public beta version),
permissions are prepared for the new demands of Android 'Q' and the icon colors in the menu on Android 8.1 are fixed.

I'm preparing a new screen to store, recall and manage settings in named presets.

We could only hope he could support it, but with BM firmware support (at least for USB media classes etc) it would be unlikely.

I haven't had the time to do much in a while but I'm uploading a new public beta that has the ability to store and recall camera settings as named profiles.
(Internet in this train is just really bad, so it may take a hour)

Looks like there are quite some changes in the last beta version that I simply forgot to release as a stable version. My camera is currently away on a film set. So I'll do the proper tests to release this new beta version as stable next week.

Did anyone manage to set the "DCI 4K" resolution on a BMPCC4K via Bluetooth?
It's supposed to be possible since firmware 6.3 but doesn't seem to work.

I don't have an URSA Mini Pro, so I could not test it on other cameras yet.

1)
"n/A" in my app means it has not retrieved a broadcast of the value from the camera yet".
It takes a while for all the values to be filled in.
I'm on shutter angle all the time, so if you mean to report a bug where the shutter is not displayed in the app, I can try setting my camera to shutter time and see if then the camera starts broadcasting the shutter values in an incompatible format.
2)
Just to be clear:
What app did you use?
It was a BMPCC4K and not an URSA Mini Pro?
You had the camera on a different resolution and used some app to switch it to DCI 4K via Bluetooth?
Then the camea showed that it was using DCI 4K resolution?
What firmware version does the BMPCC4K have?
I just tried it again with the beta of my app and the "DCI 4K (firmware 6.3)" experimental menu option and the byte values Blackmagic gave me don't work on my BMPCC4K with firmware 6.4 .
The camera only reacts to the values for FullHD and for UHD from the old protocol specification (that doesn't specify anything above UHD).

@MarcusWolschon
device used: bmpcc4k, latest firmware 6.2.1
I confirm, no display of the shutter when it is on "speed shutter", but works when it is on "angle shutter"
The firmware 6.3 and 6.4 only concerns URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 and not bmpcc4k

I know what the changelog says.
But the changelog also doesn't say a word about the Bluetooth changes included in 6.3 for the URSA.
So I already know that the changelog is incomplete and not to be trusted.

So what did you mean with "it works yes."?
The question you answered to is written above at "Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:22 am ".

Thanks for reporting it.
I fixed that bug in public Beta 1.2.35
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/bi ... cc4krecord

(The same still exists for Gain vs. ISO but past midnight already. So this will have to wait for another time.)

Since the Beta includes support for selecting resolutions >UHD and Blackamagic aparently hasn't released this protocol update to a BMPCC4K firmware yet, I have to wait until that firmware happens to release the Beta as a stable version.

I just heard that the API does not list the still shot parameter.

I will try to use a different strategy: doing a timelapse with long interval (10 minutes) and remote trigger that timelapse, and stop it after one frame. This should result in a .braw file with one frame.

Thank you anyway.

Can anyone with a BMPCC6K test the app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... cc4krecord

Blackmagic does not document the exact Bluetooth identifiers for each camera model in
the Bluetooth Protocol specification. So if it detects an unknown camera the app asks
to send me an email with some important values that I can use to detect and handle
this camera model.
(I only own a BMPCC4K and a huge selection of MFT lenses. So a BMPCC6K with EF mount
is not a sensible camera for me to own. Maybe I'll be able to rent one in October 2020 for
an event but in my own city there is no rental shop.)

I also find it very interesting to add a button to take stills.
Now, when I take a picture with the camera button, most of the time it is not very clear due to the movement when the button is pressed

Lol. Placement. They also need to have separate profiles for when the button is pressed during filming, and when not filming. Most people don't do 50/60 fps, the button can do a quick snap between frames during filming, if need be, but that is just awkward, even by remote.

http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.com/2019 ... tions.html

I finally managed to support all resolutions on all cameras.
Blackmagic has a call to select a resolution via Bluetooth but never defined argument values for many of the resolutions and the last Firmware even broke the existing FullHD support.

Recently BM Support has pointed me to a workaround for that self-imposed limitation.

Since I can not ask the camera for it's firmware version or the list of resolutions, codecs, frame rates,... it supports
and there is no list of all camera model identifiers,
I still have to hardcode lists for each supported camera model and rely on people to write me an email quoting the exact name that camera sends over Bluetooth... for every new camera model that comes out (because I can't buy every new and expensive Blackmagic camera model just for some hobby app development).
Since I can't find out the firmware version, you can still select the CinemaDNG codecs on the BMPCC4K in case you are staying with an older firmware to keep that supported.

thank you. The app seems to work fine on an old Samsung smartphone (SM-G800F). All new resolutions are there. The Shutter Speed input in the app is rather difficult, it's better to set Shutter Speed on the camera.

Noted. I'll have a look one of these days.

PS:
I use it to do metadata on a less awkward screen and keyboard and to remotely start/stop.
Sometimes smooth, programmed focus+zoom motions with the 2 PZ lenses or switching focus back and forth between pre-programmed planes.
