6.0 update - sensor pattern

PostThu Nov 22, 2018 4:13 am

Hi
I just updated to the 6.0 update on my Ursa mini pro and I'm noticing significant sensor pattern. Is anyone experiencing this? Is there a way to revert the update? Shooting next week. Any help would be most appreciated.

thanks,
Shaun

Have you run black shading calibration since updating?
It is on page 4 of the SETUP menu.

You should run this and also check that you are looking with the same settings dynamic range and ISO settings as previously. Changing from 'video' to 'film' can give you significantly different black levels as one has a video black level and the other has a very raised black level as it is intended for grading in post.

If this doesn't work do a factory reset which will take a couple of minutes.

Failing that you can always roll your camera back to 5.1.1 by uninstalling 6.0 on your Mac or PC and then installing the 5.1.1 update and flashing you camera with that.

Hi,
I've the same problem on my URSA MINI PRO. I've bought it 18 month ago. No problem until the upgarde firmware N°6... I've now some vertical lines over the image, which are visible at 1600 and 3200 iso...
Not visible at 800 iso on the LCD camera screen, but really visible on the braw file you can easy watch in Davinci resolve, and much visible again if you increase the sensibily in the software...
The problem IS that it's unreversible ! i've downgraded the firmware to N° 5.1.1 and the patern is present now at 1600 iso.

Before the last ugrade N°6... there was NO PROBLEM.. i'have many clip taken before and after... it's very clear !

I really think the firmware N°6 is destroying the sensor of the URSA MINI PRO.

Perhaps a sensor recalibration will help.

That sounds terrible. I’m on the 4.6k non-pro, let’s hope this isn’t widespread on the pro.

Gilbert as per my previous post... have you tried black shading calibration or a factory reset since the firmware update?

Hello Tim,
Yes i've done, 3 times. I do a Black Shading Calibration each time i have to use the camera in low light situations, that mean almost every day. And each time i change the firmware, i do a factory reset.

Unfortunatly the sensor patern is still present and the camera unsuable.

i've contacted the support and they asked me to send them some DNG pictures.

If anything, my UMP is looking even better after the update.
I hope you can sort that one out, it doesn’t seem to be a regular issue.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

This sounds EXACTLY like what I am going through. I am out of warranty, can you share what the cost was for the repair?
