Focus & Zoom Question

PostWed Jun 05, 2013 12:23 pm

When using the Blackmagic Cinema Camera is it possible to zoom in to check critical focus? For example, when using a DSLR, you can just hit the plus button and zoom in like 5 to 6 times.

Thanks so much!

There is focus peaking so you can determine the edges of your subjects and see what is in focus.

The LCD is also considerably larger than those of most DSLRs and, at least to my eyes, gives a clearer picture of what you're shooting.

Edited to remove my error.

Yes. You can double tap the screen to zoom in for critical focus but only in the center.

If you double tap the LCD screen, it will zoom in to check focus. There's only one level of zoom, but used in conjunction with the focus peaking, it's been very reliable for us.
