Hi folks,

After tons and tons of hours of work (together with Csaba Nagy for the programming and Wifi interface) I can finally announce this great news... three Bluetooth enabled products for the Blackmagic cameras are coming, starting with a "box with triggers" (followed by an ergonomic grip and sphere).

Pre-orders starting next week. Stay tuned folks!!

P.s.: Early birds can receive their product mid-June already.

Sorry, then go and make your own DIY solution. I don't get why people complain about the price of a special product produced in very low volumes. This is not a mass market product, therefore it can't have the same scale of economics.

Great, 1 what are the commands, 2 how is it paired (bmd or other app)

Wonder why use Lemo socket instead Simple DC barrel socket? Lemo socket only makes cables solutions 50 times more expensive and hard to find.

nowadays the best compromise is usually hirose I think.

cheaper connectors and still locking and quick release...

To answer some of the responses:

- I have chosen LEMO to get a locking plug that's really solid. Solidity was my main concern.

- Buttons can be lots of colors. On the pre-order page you can choose. Yellow and red are my favorites.

- The buttons are programmable by the user (through a WIFI interface). You can even place a custom order for 4 and even 8 buttons.

- Dial wheel should be possible in the future. But this takes time to develop and will be more expensive.

These are 3 products for Blackmagic Design. And Csaba Nagy (the one who wrote coded the firmware and the made the interface) has launched a controller for Nucleus Nano users (https://ble4k.com/) so all your Bluetooth wishes will be fulfilled !

so that's really super cheap. Why not double that?

1- How much for each extra button?
2-what is focus/zoom far near?
3-What are the functionalities that bmd have not yet implemented?

Ricardo, I've got your message through my contact form, but the email provided doesn't work. Can you resend and give a valid mailadress? So I can answer!

Here you can see a runthrough:

Focus far/near is for electronic focus (focus by wire) lenses. Zoom is for electronic zoom (not much lenses that have it).

Functionalities that I hope to see implemented are False Color on/off and Focus Peaking on/off. But much more. You can see the full list in the BMPCC4K manual.

And are you looking at the trigger box? Or other products? With the trigger box I can make a larger custom box with 4, 6 or even 8 buttons. Just let me know what you are looking for. The grip and sphere is 3 buttons max (included in the price already).

I thinking of the trigger box with unless I can get a lens where the focus/zoom _near far works if not too expensive.

I wanted to give you a heads-up. The firmware (made by the wonderful Csaba Nagy) is complete and I will start shipping the Bluetooth "Trigger Boxes" and grips to the early bird customers this week.

Orders for the first summer batch are open until this Sunday (June 30th). So if you are interested in a Bluetooth "Trigger Box", sphere or grip, don't forget to order yours! You will receive yours in 2-3 weeks.

So sphere and grip with 3 buttons with little customisation are in the mail coming (after some time). Waiting to see how they feel and fit on my shoulder rig. With Tilta T03 follow focus fixed wheel position I might have issues placing the sphere where I wan't it, a small aluminium DIY rosette extension perhaps. Grip handle should be easier to place comfortable, but where to...
