PRO-X Powerbase 70 battery for BMPCC 4K

PostTue Jul 02, 2019 9:11 pm

I have two PRO-X Powerbase 70 batteries that I used to use with my BM Production camera 4K. Now I own the BMPCC 4K I'm struggling to find out if these batteries are safe to use without burning out the electronics.

It seems there are numerous ways that I could connect this battery

- From the Dtap on the main battery body to the two pin on the BMPCC 4K
- From the Dtap on the adaptor plate (this was used for the BM Production camera)
- From the fly cable on the adaptor plate into the two pin in.
- Or I guess using a dummy Canon battery.

I'm not knowledgeable about voltages and wattages so any help wold be much appreciated.

Thanks
Keith

That's what is confusing though.

To use the Powerbase 70 battery with the BM Production camera 4k you had to use a regulator on the battery (which had a lead out), this is despite the fact the BM Production 4K could handle 12-30v. If that was the case why did I need to use a regulator for a 14.8v battery.

So I'm applying the same logic here - do I need a regulator for this battery to connect to the BMPCC 4K?

Any other thoughts out there...?

Hey,

I know this is an old post but i'll reply. I have used this battery with my Pocket 4K, 6K and 6K pro without any problems for many years. I connect it via D-tap.

Hope this helps!
