Hi,
I'm experiencing infinity focus issues on my BMCC with a Tokina 11-16 mm. I contacted BM support and they kindly offered to re-shim the camera. However, they point out that re-shimming the camera can "possibly affect" other lenses being used.
I'm wondering whether problems are likely with other lenses after a re-shim. Have people who've had their camera re-shimmed experienced problems with other lenses after the re-shim? I guess "problems" mean that some other lenses might not focus after a re-shim (are there other problems that might result from a re-shim?).
I really need a wide-angle lens that 1) doesn't have a fixed lens cap (so that I can use the lens with a matte box), 2) will accept filters, 3) is fast. The Tokina 11-16 would be a very good option, if I only could get it to focus to infinity. Is there a lens option that would satisfy the above, other than the Tokina?
Thanks, cheers,
Janne
