Camera URSA Mini 4K with ssd writer. When shooting Ultra HD in 444 I am experiencing dropped frames and can't write to the card any longer. Angelbird 1 TB SSD. It seems to be heat related, the card is really hot when removed from the writer. Let the card cool off and reinsert and the card reads and writes again. I was working with someone who had an Mini Pro and he was have the same problem, same day / location.

Anyone else having this problem? Idea's solutions?

Reads but no reply. I wanted to update this and I feel kind of dumb. I noticed some problems with my v-lock batteries over the past months. I was dropping power to my camera if the battery shifted. When I originally built my camera I purchased a very inexpensive (cheap ) plastic battery mounting plate, March 2015. Since I was having some problems, I purchased a metal plate from Wooden Camera. No more poor battery connection, and guess what, my drive is running much cooler. I am thinking it was a power draw issue that my cheap battery plate contributed to. Drives will run hotter if they are not properly powered. Hope this helps someone. As most often you get what you pay for.

Bill, good you found the source of the problem. There have been some posts recently about how hot some of the external drives can become when recording.
