"Failed to Create Blackmagic Cloud Project"

Hello

I upgraded to 18.6.3 Studio today and work daily in a multi-user Blackmagic cloud library. I am trying to create a new project, I get the normal cloud library dialogue, upon entering the info and submitting, I get "Failed to create Blackmagic Cloud Project - please check your network connection and try again" -- I tried logging out of my cloud account and back in -- still doesn't work.

• my media storage folder is located on an attached network volume (and this has always worked in the past).
• my internet connection is fine.

Proxy sync set to 'no sync'
Camera sync set to 'no camera sync'

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I have the same issue with this new update. I contact Blackmagic still waiting for response. They dont think its an update issue, but will see.

I also upgraded my Studio on my work computer to 18.6.3 on (11/14). Today I experienced exactly the same scenario described by the OP.

Restarting my work computer did not have any effect.

Luckily I have a personal laptop with 18.6.2 free version installed. I was able to create a new cloud project on it and later access the same project file on the work computer. At this time I tend to think 18.6.3 introduced a new bug.

I hope this workaround works for you, too.

I have an interesting wrinkle to add to this mystery.

My M1 Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.0 and Davicni 18.6.3 will not upload nor copy a project to our cloud account. However, yesterday I used my colleagues computer, an M1 Studio running Sonoma 14.0 but Davinci 18.5 to successfully upload to the cloud. 18.5 was not working on my Macbook for cloud upload previously either.

Seems like the kind of computer is the only variable I can find.....

When trying to create new project in 18.6.3 Studio (Intel i9 13th gen running Windows 11), this dialog box shows up (please see attached screen snip). Upon clicking on OK, 18.6.3 returns immediately to Project Manager, giving no chance to enable logging.

As I previously mentioned, a workaround is to create new cloud projects on a different computer with another Resolve (18.6.2 free version, in my case).

I'm having the exact same issue. It's really affecting my workflow.

Is there any way to roll back to the previous update, other than uninstalling and reinstalling?

We are having the same issue and it causes big problems since we need the collaboration feature.
I am really disappointed, all of the last updates came with MAJOR bugs.

Guys. Without more info, like the logs as Rohit requested it will be hard to advise.
Please see the FAQs.
Btw, if you can see the BMD web site from your system, go there and select the cloud icon top right on the home page. If that doesn’t take you to the Blackmagic Cloud login page please look into your firewall and or router settings.

I have been having the same problem and when trying to create a new project I clicked on the "Go to Blackmagic Cloud" button in the bottom left of the new project pop up. When I got there I got a message that the beta period had ended and that I needed to upgrade if I wanted to continue to use cloud projects. I went through the steps to upgrade to their free plan and now everything is back to normal. I can create cloud projects again.

Hello everyone,

I had exactly the same issue since the update. The only thing that worked for me was to log in to your Blackmagic Design Cloud Account, https://auth.cloud.blackmagicdesign.com , and confirm your plan. I am not sure, but it seems that the previous version was a Beta version and it just required confirmation that you would still like to proceed with the plan (I had a free plan so no extra charges occurred during this process). Restart the Davinci Resolve Studio and see if it works for you.

This worked for me, too. I had to go select a new plan type. Then I got double billed.

So that's when I discovered there's no way to contact Blackmagic billing on the cloud website. So that's cool.

I'm having this issue as well. The first time it happened, I was trying to create a new project in a database that a client shared with me, i.e. the cloud database is under their blackmagic username. I asked him to go to his machine and make sure he was logged in, and sure enough, he wasn't. Once he refreshed his blackmagic login, I could then create a new project.

But now it's happening on my own cloud database. I'm definitely signed in but I cannot create a new project in the cloud database. Network connection is fine, and VPN is not activated.

I fixed this all by logging into my Blackmagic account and selecting to "Upgrade to Free plan" It let me know that the beta period of the service had ended and that was trick.

Hi, I was encountering this issue and found the solution!
Go into your Blackmagic Cloud account that the project library is being charged to and look into "manage plans". A pop up should show telling you the "beta" has ended, suggesting you upgrade to the full version. By default, it will set you to the base "free" version that doesn't include any project libraries, you need to click upgrade "extras" to get the project library included. After doing this, the problem was solved and I was able to create new projects in my blackmagic cloud project library. Hope this helps.

Boah, please Blackmagic team, what's going on?
I have a paid plan for more than a year for a project library. But just like cstone3234, when I log in, it says "Not included in this plan" for the project library. This is of course wrong, as I use it for a year and pay for it.
But suddenly it no longer works.
I don't dare to "upgrade" because I'm afraid that my existing database might be lost/deleted.
Please people of Blackmagic, show us a way out quickly.

This inability to create or copy project to the cloud database is a new issue for us. Please can we get some kind of comprehensive solution to this problem — or at least an explanation of how to fix our "plan" — the "answers" provided by users above do not seem to be "answers" for us. Thanks in advance.
