Fix audio sync in v19?

I just synced about 40 video and audio clips. On several of the clips, there are now between 5 and 63 tracks. It's a 4 track recorder. All of that and there isn't a single track on these clips that is actually sync'd. Is this a known bug? I'd never experienced this prior to 19.

Also, on a related note, how do we unsync?

Uh oh. This might be a regression. I had that problem back in Resolve 16 and they fixed it after I provided extensive reproducible test cases and media.

Can you describe:
a. the starting media & import mechanism - e.g from file browser/XML/relink. All LPCM WAV? stereo?
b. the steps you used when syncing - including selection, name of action invoked, where (page/palette)
c. can you provide a link to a DRP export of the project in this state?

A trivial example:
• I added a video and multiple WAV files to the media pool in a new project.
• In the media pool, I selected a stereo and 6 mono clips + a video clip.
• I right clicked the video clip and selected Auto Sync (options used in screenshot).
• This gave me the expected number of 8 channels across 7 tracks (screenshot).
• From the clip attributes and file inspector, I could confirm the arrangement.

Thank you for the reply.

Media stored on an internal drive on PC (specs in signature.) Video is ProRes 422 with 4 audio tracks imbedded and external audio is 3-5 channels of .wav.

To sync in the Media tab, I dragged all files from Resolve's file explorer into the Master bin below. I then highlighted all of the clips > Auto Sync Audio > Waveform / various channel numbers (Auto in the drp) and kept Retain embedded audio off.

I've redone the sync multiple times and I get different numbers of tracks each time. In this drp it's not as bad as some syncs with a range of 3-22 tracks. The image below is the 22 track sync (only 18 shown but it keeps going.

I suspect you’ll need to send BMD a link to the media so they can reproduce it themselves and investigate what’s going wrong.
