Video & Audio Manual Sync not working

Hi all,

Started the process of syncing the audio and video pre-edit for a short film I'm working on - unfortunately I found out that it is going to take a lot longer than usual due to the inbuilt camera mic somehow going the entire shoot switched off (I know) so thus I have to manually sync the audio and video by lining up the video, the audio, press the link/unlink clips button yada yada ad infinium.

Unfortunately I have encountered what I assume is a bug as when I line the audio and video up and press 'link' - it doesn't work!

Playing the video works as expected, but with no audio, while the waveform on the right hand side plays alongside it as if they were synced, going to the edit page and dragging the clip onto the timeline reveals that it has not been synced - I'm sure you can guess that returning to the Media page and selecting the clip in question shows that it is unlinked.

I am tearing my hair out as this is delaying an already arduous process having to manually link over 150 video & audio files - has anyone got any idea how to fix this? I trawled the internet and the only thread I could find, the only fix didn't work (link - unlink - link again).
A suggestion from a kind friend to try and use the 'Create new Multicam clip' feature to circumnavigate whatever was going on was also unsuccessful as the same issue persisted across to it - which makes me think it may be an issue with the file types or formats.
Was hoping to try and resolve (wahey) this so I could launch into it over the weekend!

Have you successfully performed a manual sync before in Resolve or is this your first time? Nothing obvious jumps out regarding your media. Working on the media page, you loaded your audio into the audio panel and your video into the video panel, moved the two to line them up and then clicked the link button? After that, select the video clip, right-click and 'Clip attributes...' and check the audio page - it should mention linked audio... Perhaps all of this is obvious to you - I have no idea why this isn't working...

I'm having this same issue and it's an intermittent thing. Seems like some days it works with no issue and other days I get the problem described above. In the same project.

I'm having the same issue syncing a ton of clips in a short film. Double checked my workflow and am doing everything correctly in sequence according to the manual. Just not working consistently.

Actually, got it working last night. I restarted Resolve and arranged clips in list view and then long pressed the link button. Like somehow giving the keypress a second or two and the linking seems to stick. But a single click just wasn't working for me.

Same issue. Very annoying. Pushing the Link/Unlink Audio button longer doesn't work form me. Clearing the recently viewed clips and switching back and forth to the Edit pages sometimes helps.

I'm running into the same problem. There's one video clip in particular that refuses to link to its audio track. I can link others, but not that one.

I managed to work around it by manually syncing them the antique way -- in the timeline, marking the in point at the clapper. It's a LOT slower than the media page, but the media page is not syncing this clip.

I think I have some idea about what's wrong.

I tried autosync, and it got the sync wrong on some clips.

Relinking them with the correct audio is not working. Linking clips that have not been synced yet IS working.

So apparently the problem is not that syncing clips isn't working, it's that if it's wrong it can't be fixed.

My workaround is twofold:

1. Turn off Live Media Preview (other applications call it hover scrub) in the viewer on the Media Page.

2. Split the browser in two views an move the Synced Audio column next to the Clim Name so you can monitor what audio clip is attached to the video clip.

Now if a clip does not sync or syncs to the wrong clip, at least I see it in the list.

(But it is a bug that really should be fixed.)

On 18.6.4 and this is still an issue. This workaround seemed to work. Very frustrating that this is still around.
