Uninstall free version before install of Studio?

I did not uninstall free Resolve 18.6 before I installed Resolve Studio 19.2 on MacOS
I believe it's all working, but did I miss something? Should I uninstall 19.2 then reinstall 19.2?
Will this matter as to operability of Resolve? (Just being obsessive!)

I think that's only necessary on Windows.

Whether necessary or not, my personal preference is to:
1. Make a Backup!!!
2 Uninstall old version
3. Reboot
4 Install new version

That process has always given me problem-free installs. I would rather spend a couple of extra minutes up front than troubleshoot later.

Thanks all repliers. I do believe that macOS did a proper write-over install with Free 18.6 to Studio 19.2 I am used to always doing uninstalls first in WIN, but just didn't think of doing so in MAC. I don't have the patience with most housekeeping in MAC ! --RGarrett
